Types of boilers “Baksi”
The manufacturer produces several lines of gas heaters, each of which has options for any circumstances and financial possibilities. According to functionality, devices are distinguished:
- Single-circuit – only for heating.
- Double-circuit – heat and provide hot water.
Two in one – economical and compact. The separate approach also has its adherents – it is more reliable and durable.
By installation method:
- Wall. Little power. Compact – the size allows you to install them in a kitchen cabinet. Hanging on the wall.
- Floor. Heavy and powerful. If the former are usually installed in apartments, then these are intended for private houses that require high heat output from equipment.
According to the method of smoke removal:
- With an open combustion chamber. It is often called a chimney. In order to remove combustion products, thrust is needed – it is created in a long gas duct.
- With closed chamber. It’s called turbocharged. The draft here is pumped by a fan. Combustion products are discharged through a coaxial chimney passing through the wall. The burner is supplied with outside air.
By the principle of action:
- Convection. The fire heats the coolant, while some of the heat is lost. Such devices are simpler.
- Condensing. There is an additional heat exchanger – hot gas condenses on it and the coolant receives additional heating. The efficiency of such devices is higher. If we compare how much convection and condensing versions cost, the first ones are definitely cheaper, but their efficiency is also lower.
Also distinguish:
- Non-volatile. Not connected to the mains.
- Volatile. Connected to the mains. Such devices are more perfect and functional. But you have to provide backup power – in case of a power outage.
Range
Baxi gas heaters are represented by lines that combine modifications with similar features. Models included in the line may differ in heat output and other characteristics. Series of wall modifications:
- Eco Four is a two-circuit option. two heat exchangers. Copper hydraulic pipes.
- Main – with a bithermic heat exchanger.
- Eco Compact – similar to Eco Four, but more compact.
- Four Tech – also repeats Eco Four, but the pipes are plastic, not copper – therefore their price is lower.

- Nuvola is a built-in boiler. There are atmospheric and turbocharged.

How to choose?
When choosing a Baxi brand boiler, in addition to the standard ratio – 1 kW per 10 sq.m., one must also take into account the insulation of the home and heat loss. Such a calculation is not suitable for 2-circuit devices, since it does not include power consumption for water heating.
2-circuit models are worth buying if the house does not have hot water at all. For seasonal / emergency shutdown, it is better to have a storage or flow type heater.
How to set the device to economy mode?
In small apartments, the useful power max / min (F08 / F10) is recommended to be set to the minimum values. The modulation range of the 24 kW boiler is 40% of the maximum – the minimum mode is 9 kW. This is enough to heat 80 sq.m. The intervals between switching on will increase, gas will be spent more economically. Every time the burner is turned on, the main mechanisms are activated, the resource of their work is wasted.
Piping scheme for heating systems “Baksi”
The task of strapping is to prevent the device from overheating. Properly executed piping saves resources due to the efficient distribution of thermal energy. At the same time, expensive automatic adjustment loses its relevance. There are such binding schemes:
- Single pipe. The coolant rises, enters the radiator, and leaves it, falling into the same pipe. After passing all the radiators, the water returns to the original pipe.
- Two-pipe. The coolant is heated in the boiler. Gas is supplied to the radiator through the supply pipeline. The coolant, after cooling, returns through the second pipeline.
- Combined.

How to use the self-diagnosis system?
All modifications of BAXI are equipped with a self-diagnosis system. The information is displayed on the screen, the user’s task is to decipher the error codes using the instructions and take measures to eliminate them. What do the codes mean:
- E01 – no ignition.
- E02 – thermostat operation.
- E03 – no normal traction.
- E05 – the temperature sensor has broken.
- E10 – low water pressure.
- E12 – the pressure switch is faulty.

The instructions provide schematic diagrams of the device. For each modification, they are different, but the main nodes are made of the same type. Above is a chimney. Directly under the chimney is a ventilation system. Under it is a heat exchanger. It looks like a radiator or coil. On the left is a temperature sensor and a thermostat. In the center is a firebox. An expensive brand, but having suffered with the domestic device, I decided to take the European one. The insides are copper and brass, which is rare to find today. Installation is simple, the functionality is wide, the assembly is excellent.
Baksi boilers are not immune from breakdowns, but judging by the reviews, they are quite reliable, easy to operate and maintain. Thanks to automation, the owners of Italian equipment are spared the manipulation of adjustment and tuning. Complaints about breakdowns are more often associated not with device flaws, but with violations of installation or operation.
