Baked potatoes in foil: how to cook in the oven? Video

Oven-baked potatoes are the healthiest and low-calorie side dish. Tubers cooked in the oven retain all vitamins and microelements. In addition, a variety of ingredients can be added to the dish – from herbs and sour cream to seafood and bacon.

Young potatoes with bacon

Try skinned young potatoes with tender bacon. The pork fat will saturate the tubers and make the dish even more delicious and satisfying. You will need:

– 10 young medium-sized potatoes; – 200 g of bacon; – 1 onion; – salt; – Bay leaf; – dry herbs (parsley, dill, celery, thyme); – freshly ground black pepper.

Thinly chop the bacon, peel and chop the onion into rings. Wash the potatoes thoroughly with a brush and dry. Make several cuts on each tuber without cutting the potatoes all the way.

Line the baking sheet with foil, leaving loosely hanging edges. Arrange the tubers on a baking sheet, season with salt and sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper. Top with bacon slices and thinly sliced onions. Sprinkle everything with dry ground herbs, add a few bay leaves. Cover the potatoes with the free edges of the foil and place in the oven preheated to 200 ° C.

Bake the potatoes 35-40 minutes until tender. Arrange the finished tubers on warmed plates and serve with a salad of fresh or pickled vegetables.

Baked potatoes with garlic sauce

Such potatoes will be an excellent side dish for fried meat and grilled fish. Roots flavored with olive oil are crumbly but not dry, while garlic and fresh herbs give the tubers a spicy aroma.

You will need: – 6 medium sized potatoes; – 2 cloves of garlic; – olive oil; – salt; – a bunch of fresh parsley; – ground black pepper.

Make garlic sauce. Peel and grind the garlic in a mortar with salt. Add olive oil, ground pepper and finely chopped herbs. Stir the sauce thoroughly until smooth and green in color.

Vary the sauce herbs with basil, dill, or celery. The dish will acquire a new original taste

Wash the potatoes thoroughly, dry them and cut each tuber several times. Bake young potatoes in their skins, older ones can be peeled. Place the potatoes on the foil squares and wrap them around to make a boat out of the foil. Do not cover the top of the tubers. Brush the garlic sauce over the potatoes, pouring it inside the cuts.

Place the roots in foil on a baking sheet and place in an oven preheated to 200 ° C. Bake the dish for 30-40 minutes. Arrange the tubers on single serving plates without removing them from the foil. Mayonnaise or hot tomato sauce can be served separately.
