1/ 8 Carrying a large bag

A large women’s handbag or a gym bag worn for training is a bane for our backs. Uneven loads not only strain the spine, but also the back muscles. It is worth thinking about a smaller purse or a backpack.

2/ 8 Inappropriate mattress

The mattress should not only be adjusted to the degree of hardness of our spine – it must also be relatively new. Mattresses, like everything, wear out over time. A well-made product should retain its elastic properties for 8-10 years. After this period, dimples appear in it, which make our spine tire instead of resting at night.

3/ 8 Wearing high heels and… flat shoes

We all know that high heels are not healthy for the spine and wearing them causes back pain. At the opposite extreme, we have flat ballerinas, which are also unhealthy. Research shows that, depending on the length of the foot, a low heel, 2-4 cm high, is the ideal solution.

4/ 8 Holding a grudge

Scientists have proven that there is a correlation between resentment and back pain. This is due to the fact that being in an angry mood for a long time, we tighten not only the muscles of the face, but also the neck.

5/8 Stress

Stress works on us in a similar way. It causes long-lasting muscle tension, which results in neck and back pain.

6/ 8 Sitting position

We all know that sitting at a desk is not healthy, and yet it has to be repeated ad nauseam. If possible, ask for a standing desk to be installed at work. It has an option of height adjustment, so we can lift it higher and stand next to it when the back is tired. If your employer cannot provide you with this, make sure you get up and take a walk at least once an hour, or do a few exercises to relax your back muscles.

7/ 8 Inappropriate diet

Bad eating habits lead to obesity, which in turn has a devastating effect on the spine. If your back is scared, consider losing a few pounds. A proper diet combined with exercise will surely help you.

8/ 8 Letting go of exercises

Unfortunately, the enthusiasm for exercise runs out right after Monday’s training. Meanwhile, they play a key role in preventing back pain. They help to keep the muscles in the right condition, making it easier for us to maintain a correct figure.
