Scientists have confirmed the well-known fact about the dangers of alcohol, but they also found out something new, namely: they managed to calculate that a person who drinks alcohol shortens his life by an average of 28 years! Not the most pleasant statistics, you must agree. Now imagine that we are destroying our beauty and youth not only with alcohol and cigarettes. Now we will talk about common habits, which, it turns out, can only be classified as harmful.
Habit 1. Sleeping with your face in the pillow
How nice it is to wrap yourself in a warm blanket, to bury your face in a soft pillow and indulge in sweet dreams. What’s wrong with that, you say. The fact is that such a cute habit leads to the appearance of creases and wrinkles on the face, as well as unpleasant folds on the neck and décolleté. For example, if you like to sleep on your stomach, this can lead not only to the appearance of “crow’s feet” and lateral folds on the forehead, but also to puffiness and bags under the eyes. Sleeping on the side deepens the nasolabial folds and contributes to the appearance of wrinkles on the neck. Try a little experiment: try to fall asleep while lying on your back, and you will immediately see the difference. A wrinkled and swollen face will remain in the past, you will not need to reanimate your appearance in the morning tricks in the form of patches from bags under the eyes, tightening masks, etc. Do not be tempted to curl up: an even pillow and sleep on your back is the best way to look fresh in the morning and cheerfully!
Habit 2. Drink little water
All doctors unanimously say that it is vitally important for a person to consume a certain amount of water every day. And no matter how difficult it is to force yourself to drink these 1,5-2 liters, you have to force it! Water deficiency leads to premature aging, dehydration of the skin and the appearance of unfortunate wrinkles. In addition, a lack of water affects the general condition of the body: weakness, fatigue, loss of strength – all these are signs that you are neglecting water. By the way, this also affects excess weight. Thirst is often confused with hunger. It is enough to drink a glass of water – and the appetite is dulled. And in general, the morning of every girl looking after health and beauty should start with a glass of warm water. Make it a habit to leave a glass of water on your bedside table every evening – woke up and drank right away!
Habit 3. Do not wash off makeup at night
Arriving home from work, I lay down for a five-minute nap, and woke up in the morning with smeared mascara, broken eyelashes and an unpleasant sensation of a greasy film on my face. Probably, such situations happened in the life of every girl. And, perhaps, more than once! Yes, your skin will not thank you for such bullying. And, of course, it will harbor resentment. So expect nasty pimples, inflammation, flaking, a dull, earthy complexion and enlarged pores in return. After wearing makeup for many hours, the skin needs a rest: it must be cleaned, toned and given a good dose of hydration. A layer of foundation and powder is hammered deep into the pores overnight – this is where blackheads and small pimples come from. A thick layer of mascara threatens you with broken eyelashes – you risk leaving most of it on the pillow (see habit # 1). The lipstick will turn your lips dry and chapped. All this suggests that make-up is simply necessary to wash off. Do you wash your hands after coming from the street? What prevents you from immediately starting to remove makeup? And you can safely go to bed!
4. Insufficient moisturizing of the skin
Cosmetologists advise to thoroughly moisturize the skin from a young age – from 16-17 years. The fact is that dryness is most often the cause of wrinkles and dullness. That is why make it a rule to apply a cream on clean skin every day, morning and evening: in the morning you can use a lighter texture that will quickly be absorbed, and at night you can choose a cream with a richer texture or even a night mask for intense hydration.
Habit 5. Frequent face scrubs and peels
For some reason, many girls think that if you expose your skin to this procedure every day, your skin will become perfectly clean and just silky. In fact, even a light gommage can significantly damage the skin. It’s not for nothing that the instructions for scrubs write about using the product only once or twice a week. After such cleansing, the skin needs time to recover, otherwise it will peel off and only harden. And girls after 30 years old need to be more careful with scrubs: the particles should be very small, almost microscopic. Mechanical damage can not only injure the skin, but also provoke the appearance of fine wrinkles.
Habit 6. Neglecting SPF creams
Cleansing, moisturizing, toning, lifting, nourishing – find a place on this list for UV protection creams, and not only in summer. Sunscreen should not be just a beach attribute: the harmful effects of rays are equally dangerous at any time of the year. And, as any girl knows, ultraviolet light is dangerous for the skin: it can provoke not only premature aging, but also cancer. Try to choose skin care cosmetics with a sufficient level of protection.
Habit 7. Drinking a lot of coffee
How pleasant it is to start the morning with a fragrant cup of coffee with an appetizing bun or sandwich! And it would be good to limit yourself to this cup of coffee for the whole day. But not always and not everyone succeeds – you will not have time to look back, as at least three solid mugs of an invigorating drink have been drunk. Remember, coffee is cellulite’s best friend! It dehydrates the body and inhibits the elimination of toxins, contributing to the appearance of unpleasant bumps on your forms. In addition, coffee washes out calcium, stains the enamel of the teeth, and that very dehydration leads to early aging of the skin. Try to limit yourself to one morning cup, or replace it with a delicious and invigorating smoothie!
Habit 8. Slouch and hunch over
Firstly, an even posture is a sign of confidence, and secondly, it is … an elastic press. If you do not want to become the owner of a flabby tummy and saggy breasts – straighten up! Yes, the habit of slouching speaks of a weak muscle corset and hints to you: isn’t it time to go in for sports? Of course, there may be problems with the spine, then you definitely need to see a doctor and do physical therapy for his purpose. But now try to keep your back straight, listen to your feelings. Give up heels – relieve the spine from unnecessary stress. And the stooped girl on high heels does not look sexy at all.
Habit 9. Curling your hair around your finger
The flirty habit, viewed by many men as an element of flirting, is fraught with unpleasant consequences for the hair. Curling injures the hair follicles, and you can leave most of the hair on your finger. If you don’t want to become the owner of solid bald patches, find other ways to flirt with the guys you like.
Habit 10. Often touching your face
Remember how often mom in childhood pulled us back: do not touch your face with dirty hands! Moms are always right. This bad habit contributes to the development of all sorts of unpleasant infections, which will result in even more unpleasant consequences – acne and inflammation. And if you also squeeze out even the smallest and most harmless black dot with dirty hands! A hefty inflamed vulgar pimple is guaranteed to you. If you are confused by the oily shine on your face, use matting wipes. But remember to wash your hands first before touching your face.
This, of course, can hardly be called a habit – by and large it is a kind of the most urgent problem of all modern girls. But do not forget that 8-hour sleep is extremely necessary not only to preserve beauty and youth, but also for the body in general. Four hours of sleep is absolutely not enough for our body to fully recover from the previous day and gain strength and energy for a new one. All the lack of sleep, so to speak, is evident. It is enough for a man to wash and not worry too much about how he looks. The girl will have to carry out a series of complex morning cosmetic manipulations in order to look as fresh as possible. Or maybe it’s better not to waste the morning time on resuscitation of your appearance, but go to bed early and wake up a little later? And remember, you can’t watch a 40-minute episode of your favorite TV show in 20 minutes! Turn off the TV, drink a glass of warm milk and sleep!
Habit 12. Lack of proper rest and walks in the park
The coronavirus has long deprived us of the desire to leave the house, and it was not always possible. As a result, many have become so attached to their “cute fortresses” that they no longer plan to go out without a good reason. And what? They were allowed to work from home, the products would be brought by a courier, for chatting with a friend there is now “Zoom” (a program for organizing video conferencing – Prim.red.).
This “compact” lifestyle has hit our free time as well. Psychologically, it is very difficult to switch from work to rest when you live in a one-room apartment, and messengers, news feeds and vines do not contribute to relaxation. Therefore, walking on the street, arranging for yourself a full-fledged weekend with doing nothing (!) Is extremely necessary. And, preferably, at the same time disconnect all means of communication. The body will say “thank you” for this. Don’t even hesitate!
