Backgammon short: rules for beginners, placement, how to play
Backgammon or short backgammon, the rules are quite simple, you just need to understand them. This is a gambling game played on a special board with 15 pieces per person. The moves are made after throwing two dice or dice, and the Dave cube is used for cash bets.
Simple rules for beginners
There are 24 triangles drawn on the Bakgammon field, which are called points. They are of two different colors that alternate. Each item has its own number. For the player with white checkers, the numbering goes clockwise. For the player black – counterclockwise. Items 1 to 6 and 19 to 24 are called the house, and items 7 to 12 and 13 to 18 are called the yard. The house and the courtyard are separated by a raised edge of two halves of the board – this edge is called a bar, it is important.
The players’ task is to bring the pieces into the house and remove them from the board. Whoever is the first to fulfill this condition won. When a participant of the game brings 15 pieces into the house, he can remove them from the field. To do this, he rolls the dice, and removes those checkers that are on the point corresponding to the dropped number or with a lower number. If during the discarding of pieces one of them is knocked out by an opponent, the player must bring it back to the house before he continues to throw.
Placement of checkers, how to play bacgammon, blot
The right of the first move is played by lot; who of the participants in the game has the highest number on the die, he starts. But first you need to arrange the shapes. Each player places 2 checkers at the 24th, 5 at the 13th, 3 at the 8th and 5 at the 6th point.
After the first move, the next ones are performed. To do this, the players alternately roll the dice.
If a double falls out, you need to make 4 moves. The numbers on the dice can be added to find out where the checkers’ destination is. Or move with two different checkers, each on the number of points that fell on one of the dice. If the move is unprofitable, you cannot refuse it.
A point with one shape is called a blot, it is vulnerable. A single checker can be removed from the game, thereby delaying the opponent’s advance. An opponent’s piece can be knocked out to the bar if it is standing alone. An opponent who has lost a checker must return it to the game, until then he has no right to make moves further. When one or more pieces hit the bar, the player charges them into the opponent’s house. To do this, he rolls the dice, the dropped out number on one of the dice corresponds to the point at which his figure will be. For example, he got the numbers 3 and 6, he can put his checker on the 3rd or 6th point in the opponent’s house. A necessary condition – the point must be empty or occupied by only 1 opponent’s piece.
Bakgammon also has Mars and Cox, additional rules and other wisdoms. For those who are interested in this game, we can recommend the book of the world champion Paul Magril “Backgammon”.
