Baby sport: body awareness classes for Baby

Sports for Baby

From 2 years old, your child can take up sport. But not just any. Only one is suitable for its age: baby-sport. In reality, these are sessions of bodily awakening, sensory stimulation allowing the psychomotor development of the toddler, from 2 to 6 years old. The goal is to reproduce, in a secure and organized space, benches or obstacles to face, mattresses on which children can jump … By trial and error, by making mistakes, the child must find solutions on his own to overcome obstacles. set up by the educator. What’s the easiest way to get over the bench? Can you find another one? … Fabric, paper, foam, cubes, balls … the toddler is also encouraged to handle objects of different shapes and materials. He learns to explore space and to discover himself. All the exercises are adapted to the age of the children.

Babies well framed

No need to be a sports teacher to lead baby-sport! The child is under the responsibility of an early childhood professional (educator, psychomotor therapist, etc.). The facilitator is there to encourage the little one to overcome the difficulties he encounters, but also to channel the child full of energy or the reckless one who does not detect the risk!

Baby-sport, beneficial for children

The body awakening initiated by baby-sport has more than one advantage for babies. Of course, the goal is not to make your child a budding champion! Nevertheless, a little one who takes pleasure in developing his motor skills will probably be attracted, when he is older, to a sporting activity. During individual and group games, he sets up automatisms, which lead him to perfect control of his posture and gestures. He acquires balance, coordination, orientation in space and time, the notion of placement, force, speed … The child carefully keeps the learning of these movements in memory, to reuse them when he will be old enough to play sports. From 7 years old, with a racket in his hands, he will have for example the reflex to position himself and hit the ball. In addition, a child having acquired a good body diagram would be able to assimilate more effectively the techniques of learning to read and write. As proof, a little dyslexic often has a bad image of his body. To cure, he usually consults a psychomotor therapist. And the techniques used are identical to those of baby-sport!
