Baby’s menu at 1 year and 3 months: approximate baby food

After a year, the child’s menu continues to be gradually supplemented with new products, the diet becomes wider and more varied. And yet the digestive system has not yet matured, so certain restrictions must be observed. Nutrition still remains correct, balanced and healthy.

Menu for a child per year and 3 months

It is better to draw up it in advance for a week or 10 days – this way it is easier to organize proper nutrition and make sure that all the necessary products are fully received by the child.

The child’s menu per year and 3 months should be designed for 4-5 meals

In the year and in the next few months, food is still served in the form of mashed potatoes, mashed soups. Over time, the degree of grinding changes, but when to do it depends on the readiness of the child. Some babies at this age already have almost all teeth, others have very few of them.

He must also learn to chew, for this the puree gradually turns into larger pieces. Do not give your child unwashed food if he is not ready for this – he may choke.

Important!

Specialists of the Union of Pediatricians of Russia believe that the following foods should be present in the diet of a child of 1-3 years old every day:

  • meat of animals or poultry,

  • dairy and fermented milk products,

  • vegetables,

  • fruit,

  • bread,

  • cereals,

  • vegetable and butter.

Fish and eggs are included in the children’s diet 2-3 times a week. We must not forget about dairy products – whole milk, yogurt, biolact, kefir, milk mixtures, cottage cheese, cheese and other products must also be on the table.

“Milk contains more than 100 different components, including proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and biologically active substances, which are well balanced, and therefore easy to digest,” says the recommendations of the Union of Pediatricians.

In addition, you need to monitor the amount of food consumed. A child aged from one to one and a half years old should eat 1000-1200 grams of food per day.

Sample menu for every day

There can be many ways to distribute products. Use this as an example, or write your plan according to your preferences and daily routine, but still based on the recommendations of pediatricians.

Children’s menu option:

  • Breakfast – porridge (oatmeal, rice, buckwheat, corn), milk or weak tea. White bread, greased with butter.

  • Lunch – soup, meat puree with garnish – potatoes, vegetables, pasta, cereals. Drinks – juice, tea, compote.

  • Afternoon snack – 70 g of cottage cheese, milk, cookies for babies, fruit puree.

  • Dinner – vegetable puree or porridge, tea.

Each meal should contain food with a total volume of 200-250 ml. Before going to bed, the child can be given milk, yogurt or kefir.

At this age, the acidity of the stomach is still weak, therefore, milk proteins play a dominant role in nutrition – they are the most delicate. Set aside sugar and sweets until the child is three years old, now they do not need them. Baby cookies are allowed – they get soaked quickly so that the baby does not choke. From a year and a half, you can sometimes give honey – if there is a desire and there is no allergy.

When choosing yogurt or kefir, make sure that these products are suitable for the age of the child, the composition should not contain artificial colors or flavors. You can include eggs on the menu. If they were not previously introduced during complementary feeding, then you should introduce this product gradually – it often causes allergies.

– The question of when a child can be transferred to solid food should be approached individually. In this case, we focus on the following:

  • Does the baby show interest in what adults eat (looks greedily, reaches for a plate, grabs a spoon, food and pulls it into his mouth);

  • does he open his mouth when you bring him a spoon;

  • Does he hold his head well enough?

  • whether he sits well, because he should eat solid food only in a sitting position.

Typically, the age at which solid food is introduced is 6-10 months.

But it is desirable not later than 10 months, since the formation of the act of chewing, the chewing apparatus, is underway. The older the child, the more difficult it will be to teach him. We begin to give solid food in the form of food with soft pieces. It’s easy to prepare. Here’s how to do it: knead some boiled food and mix with puree; buy ready-made canned food for children with soft pieces; beat with a blender (not until smooth, but leave in small pieces).

After the child gets used to such food, it will be possible to introduce finely chopped and finely chopped food. But it is important to act gradually: one product or one dish every five days. During this time, the child must get used to it. Then you need to make sure that there is no stool disturbance, rash, vomiting, abdominal pain. So, observing and gradually introducing variety in the child’s diet, you yourself will see how ready he is for solid food.
