Creative workshops to entertain Baby
Painting, salt dough, plasticine… discover the best of manual activities to do with your child. Enough to bring out the little artist who sleeps in your baby!
Smudge and tinker, kids love it from a young age. Prepare and install all the equipment in advance because you know very well that they get impatient quickly! But don’t be too demanding: a 10-minute session is already good for budding artists. Preferably choose products intended for very young children: they meet specific safety requirements.
Baby’s first painting
With finger, sponge, stencils, children love it in all its forms. For this activity, plan an apron. Also carefully prepare the space with a large oilcloth to limit the damage. To avoid disasters, use irreversible pots or paintbrushes fitted with an “anti-sag” collar (in specialized stores) and water-washable paint. With the youngest who do not yet know how to hold a brush, think of finger gouache, which is always a great success. You can also make real masterpieces with an old sponge! Do not forget the stencils: you will find in store very creative products on various themes (fruits, vegetables, animals, the choice is vast). Super practical: the bottles of paint with foam tips: they do not run, and you can also use them on the windows for a decoration. Think about it also: painting on fabric. Have them make their handprint on a white T-shirt, they will be proud to wear it. Leave to dry for several days, then you can machine wash it without any problem.
The classic salt dough
To knead, model, paint at the same time? Express recipe: 1 glass of fine salt, 1 glass of lukewarm water, 2 glasses of flour. Mix the water and salt in a bowl, add the flour, knead for 5 minutes. You can also add food coloring. Form a ball. Distribute to children in small amounts. Give them pastry cutters, rolls, with which they can make simple shapes. Leave to air dry for several days, before giving them back to paint and varnish. There are also ready-to-use kits, which include the necessary molds (animal theme, nature…) and the ingredients.
Water games and sand games
Transfer from one container to another, whether water, sand, or even pulses or small pasta, it always pleases a lot. This activity, essential to its development, attracts him? Irresistibly. It is also a flagship activity of day nursery. Be careful to watch them, so that they do not swallow it! For the material, keep it simple: small containers, cardboard boxes or plastic bottles, you necessarily have what you need on hand.
Plasticine: a safe bet
From now on, plasticine is “magic”. Why ? Because it does not dry out, is not toxic, and you can mix colors. In addition, it is very malleable. A real treat for little hands! Also think about light clay modeling clay (Aéroplast type), ideal for making magnets, and easy to use because it dries in the open air. Choose of course simple creations: a candle holder, a paperweight with the imprint of his hand, a small box and its cover, a pretty heart?
