Private swimming pool: caution!
A private swimming pool, many dream of it! However, we must not forget that she represents a great danger for Baby. Above all, don’t take your eyes off it …
As soon as Baby is near a water point, beware! It’s not just the currents of rivers and seas that claim victims, swimming pools too!
Protect your private pool
Baby’s safety is priceless. Faced with the increase in the number of accidental drownings and to minimize the risks, all private swimming pools must now be secured.
There are four safety features that private pool owners can choose from:
– a flexible or rigid barrier (standard NF P90-306) with a height of at least 1,10 meters with, preferably, a gate with automatic closing;
– a sound alarm swimming pool (NF P90-307 standard) placed on the surface of the water or around the pool;
– a soft or hard cover (NF P90-308 standard) covering the pool, of the automatic roller shutter type, bar covers, cover stretched outside the copings;
– or one rigid pool enclosure (NF P90-309 standard), fully closed.
Now it’s up to you to make your choice to secure your pool… if you haven’t already! An essential protection that will prevent a large number of drownings.
Deadlines to be respected – Since 1er January 2004, any newly constructed swimming pool must be equipped with a safety device that complies with the standards in force; – If your pool has been built before January 1, 2004, the safety device must be installed before January 1, 2006 ; – If you hire your house with swimming pool, the safety device must be installed from May 1, 2004. |
