Traditional therapeutic uses
Main indications: convalescence, fatigue.
In Chinese energy, this formula is used for the void of Energy and Blood.
Associated symptoms : dizziness when bending down or standing up; palpitations on exertion; anemia; shortness of breath; loss of appetite; pale and dull complexion; pale tongue with fine white coating; weak pulse.
Dosage
As this formula comes in different forms and in varying concentrations, it is important to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations. A tonic should be taken for at least one month. This tonic can be used long term.
Comments
Following an illness, overwork, childbirth or significant blood loss, Energy and Blood are found in emptiness. The Emptiness of Energy causes the feeling of fatigue, loss of appetite and shortness of breath. The void of Blood influences the Heart and the Brain: palpitation and dizziness. The name of this formula comes from the fact that the eight ingredients it contains are precious to recover Vitality. This formula can be taken as a general tonic in any circumstance.
History
This formula is cited in the Zheng Ti Lei Yao, a work written in 1529 by a famous doctor, Bi Li-Zhai.
