Aznauri (Aznauri) is a Georgian cognac produced by the Kvareli cellar winery. The distillate is aged in oak barrels for at least 10 years. The drink has a deep and rich taste with pronounced hints of vanilla, typical for Georgian cognacs. The company’s products are exported to fifteen countries of the world.
Historical information
Winery “Kvareli cellar” is located in the village of Chikaani, Kakheti. The production complex was built on the site of an old factory that produced wines and cognacs. In 2004, the enterprise was privatized and became the property of a private company. The new owners set a goal to create a modern production facility that meets European quality requirements.
As a result of a large-scale reconstruction, a new winery with an area of 7000 square meters, equipped with cellars, as well as a two-story administrative building appeared on the site of the old factory. The warehouse for receiving grapes is equipped with scales designed to receive up to 25 tons of raw materials. Italian-made storage tanks are located right on the street and can hold up to 4 tons of wine.
The company owns vineyards located in the agricultural areas of Inner Kakheti: Kvareli, Kindzmarauli, Eniseli and Gremi. The climate here is characterized by hot summers and mild winters. During the fruiting period of the vines, a sufficient amount of precipitation falls, so the grapes do not need watering. Varieties are grown that are traditionally used for making Georgian wines “Saperavi”, “Mukuzani”, “Alazani Valley”.
Cognac “Aznauri” is made from “rkatsiteli” grapes grown in the climatic microzones of Eniseli and Gremi. As a result of double distillation, spirits are obtained, which are poured into barrels made of Georgian, Iberian and Maikop oak, which are then laid for long-term storage. The Kvareli Pogreb company is the leader in stocks of aged cognac with a great age, which is used at the factory for blending.
Interesting Facts
Aznauri – Georgian nobles who had the right to own lands and build their own castles on them. The bearers of this title were below the princes in the hierarchy and preferred military service.
- TM Aznauri is represented on the territory of Ukraine by the group of companies “Albo”, a major distributor of food and alcohol. The drink is bottled at the Odessa plant “Shustov”. A blend of aged spirits with an age of 3 and 5 years is brought to the enterprise from Georgia.

A dark amber-colored drink with a strong aroma of spices and oak, mixed with floral shades. The texture is thick and oily. Vanilla, woody and honey tones are felt in a deep sweetish taste. In the background are cinnamon and ginger. Cognac is sealed with a glass stopper, which does not affect the taste of the contents.
