Ayan

Ayan is a Russian beer brand of the eponymous plant from Abakan, the capital of Khakassia. A distinctive feature of the brand is the production of beer only according to the classical technology and compliance with all the requirements of GOST 31711-2012 during production and storage. Being a modern enterprise, which is equipped with high-tech German equipment Krones and Kosme, the Abakan brewery does not use accelerated brewing technologies in cylindric tanks.

Beer “Ayan” is brewed in the traditional way for 28-49 days, depending on the type of intoxicating drink. The technology uses only traditional ingredients supplied mainly from the Czech Republic, Germany, Finland:

  • light, dark, caramel, roasted malt;
  • special varieties of brewer’s yeast;
  • aromatic hops.

Water is taken from local clean sources and undergoes additional training. In addition to Khakassia, Ayan beer is supplied to the Republic of Tuva, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Omsk, Kemerovo, Irkutsk, Tyumen, Novosibirsk and Tomsk regions.

Historical information

The brewery in Abakan was built in 1980 and quickly became known for the high quality of the drinks produced. In 1992, the enterprise was reorganized into the Abakansky Brewery joint-stock company, and four years later it received its current name.

From the first days of its new history, Ayan has been producing natural beer, the production of which does not use stabilizers, preservatives, foaming agents, antioxidants.

The drink is not subjected to pasteurization to increase the shelf life, filtration is performed by a cold method. Thanks to this, trace elements and amino acids necessary for the human body are preserved. The technology does not provide for additional carbonization, since during natural fermentation and after-fermentation, there is enough carbon dioxide in beer to form abundant foam.

Ayan beer is bottled in dark glass bottles, which prevent the penetration of light and retain the natural taste and aroma of a fresh product for 25 days. A relatively short period of storage is one of the reasons for refusing to participate in exhibition events.

Despite the lack of prestigious awards, beer from Abakan is a rare but desirable drink on the shelves of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and large cities of the European part of Russia.
