Auster (Auster) – a quick cocktail for a hangover

Auster (Auster in German means “oyster”) is a low-alcohol cocktail-type drink with a specific spicy taste, consisting of four essential ingredients: vodka, raw chicken yolk, tomato paste and pepper.

In the West, Auster is used as a simple hangover cure and as a sobering agent that allows you to quickly come to your senses. The drink got its name due to the external resemblance of an unspread yolk to an oyster.

Traditional Auster

It is this recipe that is considered the most effective. It takes 1-2 minutes to cook.

Composition and proportions:

  • vodka – 1 tablespoon;
  • vegetable oil – 5 drops;
  • raw egg yolk – 1 piece;
  • tomato paste (ketchup) – 1 teaspoon;
  • lemon juice – 1 teaspoon;
  • ground red and black pepper – to taste;
  • salt – to taste;
  • lemon – 1 slice.

If desired, vodka is replaced by any other strong alcohol left after the party, such as gin, cognac or whiskey. Together with pepper, you can add horseradish, nutmeg and other hot spices.

Preparation

1. Rinse the glass with vegetable oil so that the entire inner surface is covered with a thin film and the yolk does not stick to the wall.

2. Put an egg yolk into a glass, add vodka, tomato paste, lemon juice, then sprinkle with salt and pepper (other spices).

3. Drink in one gulp, without stirring, then have a bite with a slice of lemon.
