Aurélie and Pierre’s budget, 2 children, 5080 € per month

Their portrait

Between them, Aurélie, 28, and Pierre, 33, receive nearly € 5 per month. A comfortable income that allows them to reimburse the purchase of a large house, go on vacation several times a year, buy branded shoes for their daughters (5 years and 2 1/2 years) or even eat organic.

These young parents have the impression that “the money is flying fast”. And yet, they don’t see themselves as big spenders. The latest game consoles, high-end cars… very little for them. Also, Aurélie prefers to take her children to the library and to the toy library rather than buying them books and toys.

This family, originally from Drôme, offered to reveal their expenses to us.

Shopping budget: 800 € per month

Food is THE item of expenditure on which the couple is not ready to make sacrifices. Aurélie and Pierre consume “expensive” products (parmesan, chocolate, growth milk for their youngest daughter, etc.) and favor organic products.

In addition to shopping at the supermarket, the couple spend between € 15 and € 20 at the market each week and frequent the local organic grocery store.

The young parents also treat themselves to a one-on-one pizza evening, “the ones in the truck, around the corner, the best in the world!” », Once a week, which represents a budget of 80 € per month.

Our young mother pays € 60 every four months to the hairdresser, her husband, € 15 every three months. The couple also buys books, gifts for their children or their friends every month …

Drugstore: 60 € per month

“I buy special soaps for my little one, the liniment, physiological serum (we consume tons of them!), And my care creams,” explains Aurélie.

Holiday budget: 1200-1300 € per year

Since they are parents, Aurélie and Pierre no longer make trips abroad. They prefer to camp or rent a lodge, rather than going on an organized trip. Other destinations are planned for the year.
