Attract positive energy with magnesium

Rush, competition, excess responsibilities both at home and at work, high expectations…. All this makes us live in constant stress and, what’s more, we are more and more susceptible to it. However, we rarely realize that one of the factors that may be responsible for our stress sensitivity is magnesium deficiency.

Poles suffer from magnesium deficiency. This is a common phenomenon and may already affect up to 60% of the population. And magnesium is one of the most important elements in the body, it is found in each of its cells and is essential for the proper functioning of the human body. Magnesium deficiency is felt primarily by those organs that work most intensively in our body, i.e. the brain, muscles and heart. The deficiency of the element is accompanied by many symptoms related to stress, including nervousness, irritability, depressed mood, lack of concentration or a feeling of constant fatigue.

Why do we miss him?

Because it is increasingly missing in the components of our daily diet. We are deficient in magnesium because we drink too much coffee, “soft water” which contains small amounts of the “element of life” (as magnesium is often called), and we also eat highly processed foods. Not only is it less and less in our diet, but its absorption is additionally limited by phosphates (as acidity stabilizers and acidity regulators found in cold meats and carbonated drinks), as well as taking too many sedatives, contraceptives, antibiotics and slimming treatments.

The vicious cycle of magnesium deficiency

Stress has a huge impact on the process of magnesium absorption by our body. Not the short-term one that mobilizes and motivates us, raises our energy levels, enables concentration or promotes competition. But this negative, protracted, long-lasting one, caused by constant rush, competition, excess duties. When we are stressed, our body needs and uses more magnesium, so its levels drop. And the less “element of life” in the body, the greater the sensitivity to stress. In short: there is a vicious circle between stress and magnesium deficiency. How can I fix it?

A diet rich in magnesium

In order to replenish the deficiency of magnesium in the body and alleviate the effects of stress, fatigue and irritation, it is worth taking care of a diet. It is best to limit (or eliminate) the consumption of highly processed products such as carbonated drinks, instant soups, sweet bars, burgers, fries, and replace instant coffee with espresso or cocoa. The daily diet should include natural products rich in magnesium, such as barley, rice, seafood, cereal grains, bananas, beans, soybeans, lentils, chocolate, avocados and almonds.

As a supplement to the daily menu, it is also worth reaching for dietary supplements containing magnesium and vitamin B6, which supports the absorption of the element and its storage in cells. Supplements help to replenish the right amount of magnesium in the body. It is not the dose of magnesium that is most important (large doses given in one tablet have no chance of being absorbed), but its bioavailability. According to many scientific studies available in the medical literature, organic salts (e.g. lactate, citrate or aspartate) are characterized by optimal bioavailability. You need to remember that supplements containing the right dose of this element will not replace a diet rich in magnesium, being outdoors or playing sports.
