PSYchology

Attachment theory was formulated by psychologist John Bowlby shortly after World War II. It is about how the child’s behavior and development are influenced by his relationships with loved ones. Psychotherapist Karl Brisch in German pedantically and thoroughly describes the principles of this theory, the understanding of which will help to raise a child to be happy. For example, he talks about how a baby feels, not yet able to express his emotions; what are good and what are bad nannies or nurseries; why separation is useful and how to ensure that the inevitable transition from mutual idealization to reality in the relationship between parents and the child is as painless as possible.
