Atmospheric pressure is the ratio of the value of the force with which the air column presses against the surface of the Earth (or another planet) to the surface against which the column is pressing. For this reason, there are differences in atmospheric pressure – it is lower in the mountains and higher in the lowlands.
What is atmospheric pressure?
Atmospheric pressure is calculated on the basis of the ratio of the force with which the column of air presses the area against the surface it presses. Atmospheric pressure is thus a general measure of the pressure exerted on a given surface at a given moment by air or another gas.
Atmospheric pressure is given in hectopascals (hPa) or in terms of atmosphere. It is a non-system unit of measurement for pressure, equal to 1013,25 hPa.

How does atmospheric pressure affect the weather?
The relationship between atmospheric pressure and weather is very strong. High atmospheric pressure is usually sunny, high weather. Low pressure is often associated with unfavorable weather phenomena such as typhoons, hurricanes and hurricanes.
The lowest pressure of 870 hPa was recorded on October 12, 1976 in the North Pacific after a typhoon. In October 2005, the atmospheric pressure of 882 hPa was recorded in the Atlantic Ocean. It was related to the hurricane (such a low value of atmospheric pressure was recorded in the eye of the cyclone).
The highest recorded pressure was 1086 hPa and was recorded in Mongolia. It was accompanied by good, high weather.
Living in Poland, we are also exposed to pressure changes. It is worth including the Omega 1540 mg dietary supplement in your daily diet, the natural composition of which helps to stabilize blood pressure and supports the functioning of the body.

Atmospheric pressure differences
Atmospheric pressure changes as the altitude of the place where it is measured changes. The pressure decreases as the site elevation increases, and increases as the site elevation lowers. Atmospheric pressure is not the same as the oxygen content in the air. This is basically the same for all places in a given area, but in places with lower atmospheric pressure (e.g. high in the mountains) the pressure of this gas (partial pressure) will be less.
For this reason, fainting occurs in the mountains due to hypoxia, although the oxygen content in the air is the same as at the seaside. The limit of syncope is 0,16 atm, which is the equivalent of 16% oxygen in the air at normal atmospheric pressure.
At Medonet Market you can buy inhalation oxygen, which helps in case of hypoxia. The product allows inhalation of oxygen at home and contains 99% pure oxygen, closed in a handy can.

The influence of atmospheric pressure on well-being and health
People who are sensitive to weather conditions, or so-called meteopaths, can feel painful changes in atmospheric pressure – painfully in the literal sense. Some people experience pain (most often headache and joint pain) and dizziness when the pressure changes. There may also be discomfort related to the circulatory system and the work of the heart.
Humans feel most strongly about the changes between windless, sunny weather associated with high atmospheric pressure and rainy and windy conditions caused by a low pressure system. The elderly, suffering from heart disease, arterial hypertension, atherosclerosis and those suffering from disorders of the nervous system are particularly vulnerable to discomfort. If we experience troublesome ailments related to changes in atmospheric pressure, it is worthwhile to diagnose arterial hypertension as part of the DrDiagnoza.com laboratory test package.
The latter relationship is especially visible in the mountains, when a mountain wind is forecast, meaning a sudden drop in atmospheric pressure. In some people, this causes aggression, increases irritability and makes them more prone to depression. It is widely known that halny in the Tatra Mountains means more fights, quarrels, suicides and admissions to psychiatric hospitals.
However, people with heart problems and cardiovascular problems should be especially careful about pressure changes. The passage of fronts causing sudden changes (spikes) in pressure can lead to fluctuations in blood pressure, increased heart rate and even to a heart attack or stroke. These people should always have a working blood pressure monitor on hand to check the pressure themselves. The Tensio wrist blood pressure monitor with high-quality measurement, which you can buy at medonetmarket.pl, will be perfect.
There are at least half of such people in Poland who feel very strongly about any changes in the weather, and according to some studies, it is even said to be about 70 percent.
The reason why pressure influences our mood is because, at low atmospheric pressure, oxygen penetrates our alveoli into our blood with more difficulty. For this reason, people begin to breathe much deeper to replenish the oxygen deficit, and their heart has to work more efficiently, so then it works under a much greater load. To improve the work of the cardiovascular system, we recommend supplementation with Ubiquinol 100 mg with coenzyme Q10.
Interestingly, low atmospheric pressure reduces the amount of testosterone in the blood and reduces sperm production. Testosterone deficiency affects depressive states in men or increased irritation. Dietary supplement Fertility for men, contains a complex of vitamin B12, vitamin C and vitamin E and supports male fertility.
How to deal with changes in atmospheric pressure?
This negative influence of the atmospheric pressure surges can be mitigated by taking supplements with magnesium and vitamin B6, which have a positive effect on the functioning of the nervous system and alleviate its overload. Magnesium also improves the functioning of the circulatory system, has a calming effect and regulates the heart rhythm. The supplementation of magnesium and vitamin B6 can also be supplemented with the intake of potassium, which also supports the work of the heart and the nervous system. The best solution is a healthy, balanced diet, including foods high in these ingredients (eat bananas, tomatoes and other vegetables).
In addition, it is also worthwhile, even if we do not want to force ourselves to exercise, even in the form of a short walk, which will improve our well-being. It should also be remembered that weather changes intensify and weaken, in other words the weather changes all the time, so it is not worth thinking about it. However, if your symptoms become more and more bothersome, consult your GP.
In such cases, online consultations work well, because via the telemedicine platform, within 5-10 minutes, we can talk to doctors of many specializations – without leaving the privacy of our home.
It is also worth bearing in mind that depending on the type of weather changes, the way of dealing with various ailments is different, for example in the case of:
- occurrence sluggishness due to low atmospheric conditions, i.e. a situation in which there is a drop in pressure and an increase in air humidity, in addition to the aforementioned walk, you should use preparations containing ginseng or guarana, which will give you the energy you need. You will find them in a set of dietary supplements for vitality and a strengthened circulatory system. The doctor can also prescribe drugs that improve the overall metabolism or compounds of phosphoric acid and adenosine, which increase the energy reserves of the system; in the case of osteoarticular pains, it is worth using warming ointments or dry and hot compresses, as a last resort, use non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs;
- symptoms such as headaches or mood changes due to changes in the ionization of the air during storms, use lemon balm herbs, or take valerian drops or any other sedative that will relieve symptoms and calm the agitated nervous system (see the same advice worth using in the event of symptoms resulting from strong and changing winds).

Atmospheric pressure – coffee is a great medicine
Interestingly, in case of problems with low blood pressure, it may be a very good idea to reach for drinks containing caffeine. Thanks to this, we will be able to “equalize” the pressure in our body and thus feel much better.
However, caffeine is not recommended when there is an increase in atmospheric pressure. This is because meteopaths tend to have quite low blood pressure, and the blood pressure rises because of the boom. Drinking coffee in such a situation will only strengthen this effect, and this may result in many unpleasant ailments, including even heart palpitations.
The influence of atmospheric pressure on the absorption of substances
Note that when the air warms up, medications taken in the gastrointestinal tract (also those injected under the skin) are absorbed much faster, and when the weather cools, medications are absorbed more slowly. As the temperature increases, the toxicity of the adrenal cortex hormones, ephedrine and amphetamines increases. As body temperature increases, the toxicity and activity of cardiac glycosides increases, and the toxicity of caffeine decreases as it is broken down more quickly.
If the temperature drops, the hypoglycemic effect of insulin is prolonged. The increase in temperature causes air pollutants and drug toxicity to be absorbed faster through the respiratory system and the skin. At Medonet Market you can buy Do! Detox a dietary supplement, the natural composition of which helps to cleanse the body of accumulated toxins.
