Unstable coronary artery disease, after surgery or interventional vascular procedures, prevention of recurrence of myocardial infarction, transient ischemic attacks, ischemic stroke. Use orally 100 mg (1 tablet) once a day.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to salicylates, gastric or duodenal ulcer disease, hemorrhagic diathesis, pregnancy, breastfeeding. Do not use in children up to 12 years of age, especially in the course of viral infections (flu, chicken pox).

WARNINGS

Particular caution should be exercised when using the drug in case of hypersensitivity to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic drugs or other allergenic substances, during concomitant use of anticoagulants (e.g. coumarin derivatives, heparin), liver or kidney dysfunction, gastric ulcer and / or duodenal ulcer or bleeding from history of gastrointestinal tract. Acetylsalicylic acid may cause bronchospasm and trigger asthma attacks or other hypersensitivity reactions. Such reactions are particularly prone to patients with bronchial asthma, chronic respiratory diseases, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), polyps of the nasal mucosa and people with allergic reactions to other substances (e.g. skin reactions, itching, urticaria).

INTERACTIONS

Acetylsalicylic acid enhances the effect of anticoagulants and increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding during concomitant use of corticosteroids or alcohol consumption. It intensifies the effects and side effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, the effects of sulfonylureas, methotrexate (both therapeutic and side effects), sulfonamides and valproic acid. Increases the plasma concentration of digoxin, barbiturates and lithium compounds. It weakens the effect of aldosterone antagonists, loop diuretics, antihypertensive drugs, drugs used in the treatment of gout that increase the excretion of uric acid. The preparation can be used simultaneously with the above-mentioned drugs only on the recommendation of a doctor.

SIDE EFFECTS

Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and slight gastrointestinal bleeding may occur, which in exceptional cases may lead to anemia. Occasionally, peptic ulcers may develop with bleeding and perforation. If you develop black tarry stools, stop taking the medicine and see your doctor. Acetylsalicylic acid reduces the excretion of uric acid, which may worsen gout symptoms. Hypersensitivity reactions (such as attacks of breathlessness or skin reactions) are rare. Few cases of hepatic (transaminase elevation) and renal dysfunction, hypoglycaemia and particularly severe skin reactions have been reported. Dizziness and tinnitus, especially in children and the elderly, may be symptoms of an overdose.
