Ascorutical forte

Ascorutical forte is used in infectious diseases, diseases with excessive vascular permeability (varicose veins, edema, traumatic hematomas), allergic diseases (allergic rhinitis, urticaria, photosensitivity). The drug is in the form of coated tablets and is available without a prescription.

Ascorutical forte – indications and dosage

Ascorutical forte is intended to be taken in:

  1. infectious diseases,
  2. diseases accompanied by excessive vascular permeability: varicose veins, edema, traumatic hematomas,
  3. allergic diseases (allergic runny nose, urticaria, photosensitivity).

Drug dosage

Ascorutical forte is a drug in the form of coated tablets, used preventively and therapeutically. Do not exceed the recommended dose of the preparation as it may pose a threat to your life or health. Ascorutical forte should be taken orally.

  1. Adults. Preventive 1 tablet. 2 × / d. Healing 2 tablets 2 × / d.
  2. Children after 5 years of age. Preventive and healing 1 tablet. 1 × / d.

Ascorutical forte and contraindications

There are the following contraindications to taking Ascorutical forte:

  1. allergy to any component of the preparation,
  2. hypercalcemia,
  3. severe kidney failure,
  4. simultaneous use of sulfonamides and aminoglycosides.

Ascorutical forte – warnings

  1. The drug Ascorutical forte should be used with caution in the case of: sarcoidosis, renal failure, kidney stones, heart diseases (patients treated with cardiac glycosides and epinephrine).
  2. People who suffer from kidney stones should drink plenty of fluids during treatment with the preparation.
  3. The use of vitamin C in high doses may falsify positive results of tests for the presence of glucose in the urine, and may falsify negative results of tests for the presence of occult blood in the feces.
  4. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking the drug.

Ascorutical forte with other drugs

  1. Absorption of tetracyclines and fluorine compounds is reduced by administering calcium salts. There should be an interval of at least 3 hours between the administration of these drugs and calcium salts.
  2. Calcium absorption is increased by: vitamin D, parathyroid hormone and acidic food, while decreased calcium absorption is caused by: calcitonin, glucocorticosteroids, excess lipids, alkaline food, phytates (contained in cereal products), oxalates (spinach, rhubarb), phosphates (milk and its products).
  3. Simultaneous intake of high doses of calcium with cardiac glycosides (digoxin and strophanthin derivatives), increasing the amount of drugs and may lead to arrhythmias.
  4. Calcium absorption and the risk of hypercalcaemia exist with concomitant use of thiazide diuretics.
  5. Vitamin D with high doses of calcium reduces the effects of verapamil and calcium channel blockers.
  6. The use of vitamin C in doses exceeding 1 g per day may reduce the effectiveness of: tricyclic antidepressants, phenothiazines and may lead to an increase in the serum concentration of concomitantly administered estrogens.

Ascorutical forte – side effects

While taking Ascorutical forte, the following may occur:

  1. nausea,
  2. epigastric discomfort,
  3. in patients with renal insufficiency taking high doses, hypercalcaemia may occur, which is manifested by loss of appetite, gastrointestinal disorders, muscle weakness, polyuria, nephrolithiasis,
  4. the use of vitamin C in high doses causes excessive excretion of oxalic acid in the urine, crystallization of urate, cystinates and diarrhea.
