Arthritis is a group of ailments most often found in the locomotor system. In the past, arthrosis was a disease that mainly seniors struggled with. Today, this disease affects adolescents and young adults alike. What are the causes of arthrosis and how is this disease manifested? What are the most common treatments?
Arthritis of the joints – characteristics
Arthritis, also known as osteoarthritis, is a disease that results from biological or mechanical events. It is a progressive, chronic and irreversible condition. The degeneration of joints is most common among diseases of the locomotor system and develops as a result of disturbances in the quantity and quality of articular cartilage, the task of which is to cushion the movements of the joints. Arthritis as a disease was only described at the beginning of the 2th century. It is estimated that about XNUMX million Polish women struggle with degeneration of the joints and it is also a disease for which it is most often diagnosed with disability. Arthritis has been divided into primary and secondary disease. Primary degeneration is characterized by an unknown cause of its occurrence, while secondary degeneration is caused by damage to the joint structure, systemic diseases or abnormalities in the structure of the joints.

What are the causes of joint degeneration?
The causes of arthrosis are divided according to the type of disease present. If we are dealing with primary arthrosis, the patient has no influence on the development of osteoarthritis. The primary causes include genetic predispositions, abnormal chemical composition of the synovial fluid, improper blood supply to the joints and the influence of various hormonal or metabolic diseases. The causes of osteoarthritis may also be secondary, and with their proper control, the risk of developing the disease can be significantly reduced. Among these reasons, special attention is paid to:
- overweight and obesity – losing unnecessary kilograms relieves the joints and reduces the risk of degenerative changes,
- weakness of the muscles surrounding the joint – regular exercise and strengthening the muscles around the joints can prevent the disease,
- Occupational factors – work involving activities that often strain the joints, leads to the formation of degenerative changes. Often the only way to reduce the risk of illness is to change jobs,
- practicing sports – sometimes intensive practice of a given sports discipline may result in joint degeneration,
- disturbances in the structure of the joint – in order to reduce the effects of the disturbances, it is necessary to correct the structure of the joint by surgery, rehabilitation or by using knee orthoses or inserts.
The reduction of the risk of degenerative diseases is influenced by antioxidants and anti-inflammatory substances, which can be found in the dietary supplement with European olive leaf extract. Also try N ° 1 Active FLEX – a dietary supplement for joints, which you can buy at a favorable price on Medonet Market. For joint pain and inflammation, it is worth using Chondroitin sulfate – YANGO dietary supplement.
Arthritis – symptoms
Usually, the first symptoms of arthrosis appear between the ages of 40 and 60 and may affect one or more joints. Initially, the symptoms are felt mainly when moving, then they are also felt while resting and at night. The most common symptoms of arthritis include:
- Pain – is mechanical in nature and usually occurs when moving, for example when starting physical activity or getting up from a chair. It must be distinguished from pain caused by inflammation.
- Joint stiffness – stiffness usually starts in the morning after waking up and lasts for about 10-15 minutes.
- Restriction of mobility – joints affected by degeneration are characterized by limited full movement. Problems with full extension or flexion of the joint are evident.
- Crackling in joints – occurs during movement and is a sign of friction in the joint.
- Distortion within the joints – results from a change in the axis of the original joint position.
To alleviate the pain symptoms of arthritis, try a glucosamine cream for muscles and joints and devil’s claw root lotion. We also recommend InflaCell Defense: turmeric, ginger, boswellia – Doctor Life dietary supplement, which not only alleviates the symptoms of degenerative joint diseases, but also fights inflammation.
Arthritis of the joints – methods of treatment
If symptoms of osteoarthritis appear, see a doctor, such as a rheumatologist, immediately. Treatment of osteoarthritis usually relieves symptoms through pharmacological and non-pharmacological measures. Treatment of this disease is often prophylactic and consists in minimizing the effects of causes dependent on the patient.
Warming up and supporting the regeneration of joints, it is worth using Poplar lining for overloads, which should be applied to problem areas.
The doctor recommends the patient to lose excess weight, encourages him to take up physical activity and relieve the joint. Your doctor may recommend rehabilitation treatments, including, for example, treatments based on cryotherapy. Medicines that help fight pain caused by degeneration of the joints include paracetamol, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, opioids and corticosteroids.
In order to alleviate the symptoms of degeneration of the joints, it is administered, inter alia, the drug Structum or Cartexan. You can also take advantage of the healing power of heat by using the VITAMMY Heat Electric Heating Cushion.
