Arsen Manucharyan from “Best of All”: “I became a unique child thanks to my dad”

With a question we turned to the dad of the 9-year-old circus artist Arsen Manucharyan, the hero of the “Best of All” project on Channel One.

“Everyone in our family is circus performers,” says Andrei Manucharyan. – Arsen, one might say, was born in the arena, at the age of 5 he already performed on a horse. Then he worked as a clown. When I went to school, it stopped – I spent most of my time studying. True, the circus tightened him up, and he began to rehearse a little. At first, my wife was against it, but Arsen and I managed to convince my mother. Six months ago, he asked to buy a gyro scooter and came up with a number. The son rides it and twists a pole with fire, and also a heavy metal cube, which is taller than him.

– Arsen’s number is difficult and dangerous. At first, my wife and I were worried, because fire is not a toy for children. But the son is a careful and smart guy, he evaluates his every step, thinks how to achieve the goal. And since we agreed with his choice, we help him in every possible way, support him: if you take it, go to the end. Adults cannot know what talents are hidden in their children. And then the son showed it himself. So, we need to help him open up, we need to deal with him, talk to understand him. The more you invest in a child, the more results he will achieve.

– The trick with the car is very difficult. Previously, I myself dragged cars, wagons. But it happened that I could not do it either. How surprised I was when a year ago Arsen approached a car standing in the arena, threw the rope around his neck and … pulled. I didn’t have time to warn him that it was too early for him to do this. However, my son liked it. Since this all started. I believe that children should be taught to play sports or tricks from childhood so that they are not afraid. If I shouted to Arsen then: “Stop! You can’t! ”, He would be frightened and, perhaps, could never overcome himself. Fear can consume once and for all. It is necessary to explain to the child that the trick is not performed right away, you should go to great results slowly, slowly, with training. With children, you need to be very subtle. The maximum weight that the son takes now is 2 tons. He came to this figure gradually.

– Now I am a trainer of predators, my wife works with snakes and dogs. And in 2000, she was the only woman in Russia who flew under the circus dome on her hair. Marina also participated in the power numbers. My daughters also worked with snakes, a crocodile, a fiery hula hoop was played under the circus dome – all the numbers were complex and extreme. So is the son. He looks at all this, learns from me, from the artists of our circus tent and slowly conquers new heights. If she remains to work in the circus – great, no – she will achieve other successes. By the way, he is very fond of mathematics and studies at “4” and “5”. For this, thanks to his class teacher Marina Gennadievna, who helps him a lot.

– We do not forbid our son anything at all. If Arsen wants to play at the computer, he plays, however, he quickly gets bored. We don’t really encourage Coca-Cola, chips, fast food. And it happens that we offer it ourselves, but he refuses. If something is constantly forbidden to a child, he will only desire it more strongly: if they forbid me, it means that there is something like that there. You cannot be guided only by prohibitions. It happens, of course, for something and punish. But his punishment is to push out fifty times. He puffs, but performs everything in an adult, masculine way.

– Arsen is very kind to his mother, with great love. When he pumps his abs every day, Marina sits on his feet, and he gets up and kisses her. But mom can also be strict, in this respect we have an ordinary family. We have been together with my wife for 25 years, and during all this time she never interfered with my principles of raising my son and did not say that she felt sorry for him. As I have never allowed myself to do this, if she scolded children for something. We keep each other’s parental authority.
