Arrangement of furniture: how to arrange furniture correctly. Video
One of the most difficult stages of home improvement is furniture placement. If you make gross mistakes during its implementation, it will become very inconvenient to use the premises, and some objects may not fit in the rooms at all.
The main features of the arrangement of furniture in the house
Be sure to consider the requirements of the interior style that you have chosen. Some styles involve placement along the walls, which leaves a lot of free space in the center of the room. Others, on the other hand, are characterized by an even distribution of items. Focus on the option that you prefer.
Consider the size of the room. The closer it is, the less appropriate groups of pieces of furniture installed closer to the center will be.
The correct arrangement of furniture in an apartment is impossible without preliminary functional zoning. Experienced designers recommend that you first determine which zones need to be located in the room, then decide exactly where each of them will be located, then select groups of pieces of furniture and only then proceed with the arrangement.
For example, in the living room you can equip a seating area with a sofa, TV stand, two armchairs and a coffee table. Then it makes sense to add a home office to this area with a computer desk and chair, as well as a shelving unit. It would also be appropriate to place a mini-library, a place for needlework, etc. in the room.
How to arrange furniture correctly
Remember an important rule: the arrangement of objects must be harmonious. Situations when a lot of furniture is installed in one part of the room, and the other is empty are undesirable.
Decide whether the items will be placed symmetrically or asymmetrically. The first option is typical for static, calm styles, the second – for dynamic, bright
Consider another very important point: there should be a lot of free space between objects. People who are not professionally engaged in interior design, alas, often forget about it. For example, to make it convenient to use a double bed, you should not push it with the side close to the wall. There should be enough free space in the hallway in front of the closet so that you can not only bend over and reach the things lying below, but also dress in front of the mirror, while freely raising your hands and not touching the furniture. Also consider the opening radius of the doors. In particular, in the kitchen, the table must be positioned so that the door does not touch not only it, but also the people sitting behind it.
Finally, use one more simple tip: first draw a floor plan and “arrange” furniture on it, and only then implement your ideas. This simple solution can save you a lot of time and effort.
