1/ 6 Starving yourself is the worst way to get rid of fat

Losing weight is not about starving yourself. The cause of weight gain is most often an improper diet and harmful eating habits that lead to dysregulation of metabolism. Starving yourself in the hope of losing pounds usually has the opposite effect in the form of the so-called the yo-yo effect, i.e. returning to the previous weight after slimming treatment. Research proves that such fluctuations in body weight make subsequent therapies designed to reduce excess weight more tedious and long-lasting. The key to achieving your dream figure is a balanced diet, rich in wholesome products and nutrients necessary for the body to function properly.

2/ 6 Don’t go overboard with the amount of protein in your diet

People who dream of a slim figure often place their hope in a high-protein diet. It may work for those who play sports and develop muscle mass, but it is not the best idea as a way to lose weight. Few people are aware of the fact that the body can convert protein into glucose. If it is not burned, it is deposited as fat. So when we go overboard with protein, but do not overdo it, we can be severely disappointed in a menu dominated by chickens or eggs. Instead of reaching for radical solutions, it is better to follow the rules of a balanced diet and not restrict any of the food groups too much.

3/ 6 You don’t lose weight from light products and avoiding healthy fats

The belief that you are getting fat from fat still makes it difficult for many people to lose weight. Cold-pressed oils, such as linseed, walnut or black cumin, as well as olive oil are excellent allies in reducing excess weight. Contrary to appearances, butter and full-fat dairy products will also not add kilograms, as long as we eat them in moderation. Dairy products contain fat-soluble vitamins (A and D), as well as calcium and cultures of beneficial bacteria. These are the ingredients necessary to enjoy your health, so it is not worth replacing wholesome dairy products with “light” products. In fact, there are fats to avoid: these are the trans fats found in processed foods such as crisps and cookies, as well as omega-6 fatty acids that must be consumed in the correct proportion to omega-3.

4/ 6 Do you avoid breakfast, eat late suppers? This is a mistake!

In the morning you can not “squeeze” anything into yourself? Perhaps you overeat at night or eat dinner too late. This is a cardinal error in slimming treatment. A meal eaten too shortly before bedtime will not be burned. Unused calories will be deposited as body fat. Late dinner is also a ‘way’ to increase the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the bloodstream. That is why it is worth going to sleep with a feeling of light hunger. You can indulge a little more in the morning. It even should. The first meal should be eaten within an hour of getting out of bed. It should satisfy approx. 20 percent. daily caloric requirement. Early breakfasts accelerate metabolism and make us burn energy reserves faster, which promotes weight loss.

5/ 6 Don’t forget that drinks can make you fatten too

Counting calories makes no sense if you forget to include the energy value of drinks in your bills. Of course, water does not have it, but a large dose of calories is contained in, among others, fruit juices, carbonated drinks or “energy”. Also, sweetened tea or coffee is a source of calories. Of course, one should not become paranoid. One little black dress with a teaspoon of sugar will not make much difference if we implement our weight loss plan with reason and consistency. However, regularly satisfying your thirst with “colored” drinks is a terrible idea. Drinking water, unsweetened green tea and herbal infusions to aid digestion, such as chamomile or St. John’s wort, is much better for reducing body fat.

6/ 6 You won’t lose weight without exercise

Being overweight doesn’t just come from a bad diet or “bad” genes. It is also a result of avoiding physical activity, which has an impact on the metabolic rate, i.e. biochemical changes, influencing, among others, for the deposition of adipose tissue. Regular exercise is the best way to speed up metabolism and increase the body’s efficiency. It is worth considering not only cardio exercises, such as running or aerobics, but also strength training. Lifting weights or exercising using your own body weight will fuel your metabolism and burn fat faster after exercise.
