Researchers at Cardiff University in the UK say the vaccine doesn’t have to be injected. Their research shows that the vaccine, given in the form of a pill, may also be effective. Some suggest that we are in for a breakthrough in medicine that will help people, especially from the African continent, to take care of their health.
Scientists have already carried out tests on mice, but doctors hope that it will soon be possible to move on to further stages of work and introduce it to the market, because the vaccine in a tablet has numerous advantages, TVN24 BiS reports.
The research clearly confirms that the vaccines in tablets have an advantage over the classic ones available all over the world, which we know from vaccination against basic diseases. From an early age, vaccination is not associated with anything pleasant. Especially children who react differently to the sight of a syringe.
A vaccine is also a certain substance. Very often, a liquid with a different mixture and consistency, which must be kept at a low temperature with the right infrastructure – a refrigerator. In the case of a vaccine in the form of a tablet, it is not necessary to care so much about cooling the preparations as in the case of currently used vaccines. This would greatly facilitate the delivery of such vaccines to people in poor regions around the world. With tablet vaccines, there is no pain, unlike when administering the drug with a syringe.
Taking into account the composition of the vaccine – many substances are supported by other substances that are not necessary for their application, e.g. in a pill. The list of ingredients that appears very often in these classic vaccines is then reduced.
