PSYchology

Hello, dear Nikolai Ivanovich. I am tormented by one very topical question for me. But even the great google (not to mention books on personal growth, applied philosophy and esotericism) has not helped me yet.

The most succinct question is this: In the process of organizing my life (or as you write “building a life line”), I approached such a difficult topic as my own death (and the death of loved ones Believe me, not without reason!). And I decided to write a will. To calm the soul, so to speak. But as luck would have it, I read/heard in several places at once: “Your thoughts are material! Do not think about death, illness, loss! This is negative energy, stress,” etc. And a fear appeared in me — «causing trouble.» How do you look at the topic “materialization of thoughts”, dear Nikolai Ivanovich?

In short, it’s like everyday nonsense. Everything is confused here.

“Are thoughts material” is one thing, “negative thinking creates stress” is another, and “causing trouble” is a third. It’s all about different things.

Thought itself is not material, although its carrier is quite material. At the same time, if a person with crooked brains, with non-constructive and negative thinking, he will quite successfully arrange stress and any other troubles in his life. It is foolish to put the question: «to think about death and illness — or not to think?». If you do not think that your teeth may get sick and do not go to the doctor in a timely manner, go to the doctor later, only with acute toothache. Thinking is useful if a person knows how to think. But to be afraid is harmful, especially if the fears are stupid.

Action follows thought, thought follows attention, and if your attention is riveted on what it shouldn’t, you start doing what it shouldn’t. If a girl is learning to ride a bicycle and is insanely afraid of driving into the nearest pole, with the highest probability she will not miss this pole and drive into it. Why? Because she is afraid, because her attention is riveted to this pillar.

What to do? Think about the right route and not be afraid of the pillar. Are there techniques to not be afraid of, for example, a pillar? There is. See Soul Insurance, and don’t confuse soul insurance with negative programming.

Negative programming occurs against the backdrop of fear, tightness and fear of losing. Insurance, on the contrary, is done against a relaxed background and calm acceptance of the fact without fear: yes, loss is possible, but it is not as terrible as it seems. Negative programming leads to what you are afraid of — loss; while mental insurance, cultivating care and attentiveness, preserves the things that are dear to you and the relationships that are dear to you.

And writing a will is a good thing. Only you need to write it not for yourself, not to calm your own soul, but for your loved ones: in order for your loved ones to have less trouble after your death. And if for some reason your death worries you, then this is not good: deal with this issue and do not fool yourself. Of course, you will die, there were no other options in the history of mankind. But there is nothing terrible here, it is not much different from how you fall asleep in the evening.

Do you sleep well after a big, well-done day? I think that you fall asleep easily and with pleasure. It is with the same feelings that those who have lived their great lives with high quality and dignity die.

The problem is different — that a large number of older people (and mainly in Russia) live, crushed by horror, and at the same time they do not want to live, and they are afraid to die. This is not a problem of death — this is a problem of the elderly in Russia. In India, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and other countries with a more positive mentality, there is no fear of death. In general, in principle — is absent. Maybe we should be wiser?

Think about the right route and don’t be afraid of the pole.
