Due to the government restrictions, we rarely leave the house. However, there is a group of people who have to fulfill their duties. These include sellers in grocery stores and drug stores. Are they more at risk of contracting the COVID-19 coronavirus? Dr. hab. n. med. Tomasz Dzieciatkowski, a virologist from the Medical University of Warsaw.
Infection with the coronavirus COVID-19 occurs through droplets when coughing or sneezing. Direct contact with an infected person is also a risk. For this reason, if we have symptoms of infection or we simply feel bad (we suspect a cold), we should put on protective masks after leaving the house so as not to infect other people.
In addition, having a weakened immune system, we are less immune to the effects of microorganisms, including the COVID-19 coronavirus. That is why it is so important to keep the exit from the house to a minimum.

Although the #Zostajewdomu campaign is being promoted, going to the grocery store or drugstore for the products necessary for its operation was not prohibited. However, at all points where clients may be served, a number of orders have been introduced to minimize the risk of contamination.

There should be at least 1,5 meters of distance between people standing in line. Cashiers are separated from customers by plexiglass. Wearing gloves is obligatory for everyone.

Are customer service people at risk of contracting the coronavirus? Dr hab. n. med. Tomasz Dziecistkowski reassures the sellers, pointing out that the risk of infection is minimal, as is the case with all people who may pass by on the street. This does not mean, however, that we should not take precautions.
