In fact, our experience from the hospital shows that people who contracted COVID-19 had more severe symptoms after receiving the vaccine than people who were not infected with SARS-CoV-2. There was a fever, a feeling of breakdown, and muscle pains – explained Dr. Ilona Małecka.
However, the expert reassured that the symptoms after vaccination lasted for 1-2 days. – Most of the patients feel well after this time and do not experience any disturbing symptoms – she said in the program.
For the time being, such conclusions can only be drawn from observations. Dr. Małecka emphasized that we must wait for tests on large groups of patients to really confirm that convalescents may have more severe symptoms after receiving the vaccine.
As a reminder, scientists are now recommending vaccinations also for people who have already contracted COVID-19, because there is a risk of reinfection.
