Archimedean shovel: principle of operation and application

Thanks to the latest developments, it has become easier for gardeners and gardeners to perform various types of work on the site. Archimedean shovel is a miracle inventory, simple, like everything ingenious. It was invented by a mechanical engineer living in the city of Kovrov, who planted potatoes for more than 30 years until he came up with a device that could make the work of many people easier. What is the principle of operation of such a shovel, why is it unique? You will learn about this from our material.

Principle of operation

A revolutionary solution was a few years ago the Archimedean shovel, invented by an inventor who, from his own experience, was convinced how hard it is to bend over often and dig for a long time. Its goal was to facilitate the work of gardeners and gardeners, for which the engineer designed an experimental model of the tool in 2000, after which he tested it in action for ten seasons and improved the original copy.

The invention was patented, as a result we got a semi-automatic and high-speed small-scale mechanization device. Unlike a bayonet, such a shovel has a “small” foot lever. When you press it with your foot, the blade of the tool throws up the required amount of earth. The foot lever is a kind of swing that gives your actions more power and allows you to perform work without exhausting bending and squatting.

After using such a miracle equipment, there will be no unpleasant pain in the arms and back, since during the gardening work, the load is removed from the spine and the hands are not overstressed. In the course of the work, it is necessary to use only one hand, the second remains free and rests. With such an assistant, a layer of earth is thrown high and strong, it lies flat, and you do not waste extra effort and save time. A shovel equipped with levers is a powerful tool that will allow even women and children to take part in planting and digging crops in the garden.

Description of construction

The inventor claims that in order to lift 5-6 kg of earth with a bayonet tool, one should lift half the weight of one’s body plus a shovel. When performing work on the site using his device, neither the torso nor the earth layer rises, but only the leg. The Archimedean shovel is designed quite light – for this, a large handle made of aluminum and a blade with holes are provided. Outwardly, it differs from a garden bayonet shovel only in the form of a handle. There are fundamental differences in the appearance of the working canvas. Its blade is wider and higher than that of a conventional tool, it has a lever that works on the principle of Archimedes. The canvas also has 4 longitudinal holes.

The width of the blade in the process of digging the soil makes it possible to make the one-time area larger. The lever allows you not to bend your back, but to perform all actions while in an almost vertical position. So your arms and lower back will remain in good health even after digging up a large number of acres of land. The holes in the structure make it easy and quick to loosen the ground, help to clean the dug out tubers from the adhering layer of soil. The design of the device is laconic – it consists of a bayonet, a leg lever, a bracket, a large handle and a plastic handle. The stalk has a lower part with a cone 38 cm long, the shortest segment is 4 cm long, the most part of the stalk is 78 cm.

Craftsmen try to make such a shovel with their own hands. To do this, take a lightweight bayonet with holes, make a few more in it. They cut the lever, make a bevel 180 mm long. A cut is made on the back side of the cut and a cutting of the cutting is glued into it. It turns out a heel that regulates the angle of tilting the earth. From the opposite end of the bar, the length should be 80 mm. The foot lever is driven into a bayonet shovel by 150 mm, fastened with a bolt and screws. A large handle is assembled with a handle and a bracket. It is made of steel having a thickness of 1 mm. The finished bracket is obtained in the process of bending the workpiece. You can make a bracket out of papier-mâché. But it is better to purchase a ready-made tool that will serve as a guarantee of quality and is original.

Application

Archimedean shovel: principle of operation and application

What types of work in the garden or in the garden can you quickly and effortlessly perform on the site? These include digging up any type of soil without having to bend and unbend. This feature is relevant not only for people aged who have serious diseases of the spine. The main types of work can be done with your feet. At the same time, it is realistic to perform both digging and loosening the soil.

In the process of digging up the tubers, they are simultaneously cleaned from the remnants of the soil adhering to the surface.

Using such a novelty, you can, in a short period of time, process even the land that has not been dug up for a long time, and any problem area. The direction of the working forces of this tool coincides with the direction of gravity, and not vice versa, as with a bayonet shovel. The device weighs only 1, 8 kg, replaces the bayonet tool, pitchfork, harrow, cultivator and many other devices.
