Health Minister Bartosz Arłukowicz informed PAP on Wednesday that he had signed modular education specialization programs, which are to shorten the time of obtaining narrow specialization by young doctors.
Today we have signed modular education specialization programs that will enable young doctors to learn a new way – said Arłukowicz. This will be a more effective way of training, enabling physicians who currently have basic specializations to do narrow specializations faster and in a simpler procedure.
As the minister of health added, a doctor who finishes his studies will be able to do a narrow specialization faster, so specialists will come. He emphasized that thanks to modular education also those doctors who already have second degree specialization, incl. in internal medicine, paediatrics, surgery, gynecology, they will also be able to do an additional narrow specialization in a shorter time than today.
After the introduction of the modular system, specialist training in specific areas will be able to be undertaken by doctors after completing the postgraduate internship (and after its abolition, immediately after obtaining the diploma). This is to shorten the time required to obtain the title of specialist. Thanks to the modular training, doctors who complete and pass one of the basic modules will not have to return to this block if they decide to start another specialization in another field in which this module is valid.
