April news

April is a month of change: you need to restore the skin and hair after the winter and prepare them for the summer. And our new products appeared as if specifically for this.

Anti-wrinkle night serum “Revitalift Laser”, L’Oréal Paris

Retinol (aka vitamin A) is called one of the best anti-aging ingredients. It is believed that he selflessly fights wrinkles and pimples, perfectly smoothes the skin, makes it more elastic and supple. But with sensitive skin, retinol can cause dryness and irritation, so many people are afraid of it. And so am I.

The bottle with the new night serum from L’Oréal Paris opened with trepidation. Yes, the composition is excellent:

  • glycerol;

  • lack of dyes and silicone;

  • 0,2% pure retinol, which is known to be much more effective than its derivatives.

But isn’t 0,2% a lot? This concentration will take some getting used to. In the first week, the manufacturer advises using the serum no more than two nights, in the second – every other night, and in the third, subject to good tolerance of the product, every night.

I started with three drops (one for each cheek and one for the forehead) right after cleansing and toning. Here it is necessary to say about the texture: it is light. The serum absorbs very quickly – so quickly that you may not have time to carry it on your fingertips to your face. And no discomfort either on the first day, or after 3 days, or after a week. After about the fifth use, I noticed that the skin became smoother and seemed to be brighter, it became easier to apply makeup. It is too early to talk about the final results, but the intermediate results are already very pleasing.

Anti-aging CC cream for face Anthelios with SPF 50, La Roche-Posay

Since retinol makes the skin more sensitive to UV light, sunscreen should be used every morning. And here the tinting novelty from La Roche-Posay came in handy. Of course, SPF 50 is too much for spring – 20 would be enough, but I really liked its three-in-one effect. CC cream protects from the sun’s rays – once, has an anti-aging effect – two, and replaces foundation – three.

It happens that in such smart tools one of the functions suffers. Let’s say the cream perfectly blocks ultraviolet, but at the same time it “streaks” and rolls off. Or not particularly effective in fighting wrinkles. La Roche-Posay CC Cream seems to deliver on its promises.

It is easy to apply and blend. The yellowish tint, which confused me at first, dissolved after a few minutes, the cream seemed to adjust to the color of the skin, leaving only a slight tan effect. I liked to apply the SS in a thin, pre-thin layer. But if you need to mask pimples or age spots, the layer can be made denser.

Thanks to hyaluronic acid, the product moisturizes well. After 2 weeks, I stopped using a moisturizer – it seemed that it would be superfluous.

As a bonus, it has a calming effect. The cream not only masks irritation, but also removes it thanks to thermal water and vitamin B3.

For summer, when you don’t want to overload your face with cosmetics, it seems ideal – we get good care, tinting and sunscreen in one bottle.

Serum Silymarin CF, SkinCeuticals

The first thing that fascinates about this tool is the name. Sounds like Silymarin! Either the name of an undine, or a small town lost somewhere in the Mediterranean … But no, this is the name of a flavonoid that is obtained from milk thistle. This component, as well as ascorbic, ferulic and salicylic acids, are the main characters of this remedy, designed to help age-related problem skin.

In general, when it comes to anti-aging products, antioxidants are the first thing that comes to mind. They fight free radicals – unstable molecules, due to which the skin ages prematurely, loses its tone and elasticity, becomes covered with age spots and wrinkles, becomes dry or problematic. There are three antioxidants in the new SkinCeuticals serum. And together they are capable of so much:

  • slow down oxidative processes;

  • accelerate cell renewal (and thus protect and restore the skin);

  • visibly lighten the tone;

  • moisturize;

  • make skin beautiful and radiant.

The serum is applied once a day after cleansing and toning. 4-5 drops are enough to treat the skin of the face, neck and décolleté. You may not really like its smell (I, for example, heard a slightly pharmaceutical, harsh aroma of bitter herbs), but you will definitely be delighted with the texture. It is oil-free, reminiscent of water-based herbal infusions, and the skin literally swallows it. It seems that only you ran a wet hand over your face – and there is nothing, it’s dry. Where is the serum, was there any at all?

I really love another SkinCeuticals antioxidant serum, Phloretin CF, but Silymarin exceeded all my expectations: the T-zone stopped shining, the skin tone evened out, and the number of rashes decreased. And all this in just two weeks. What will be next?

Mask for thin hair Superfood “Watermelon”, Garnier

Addition to the family of superfoods: Garnier has released a shampoo, balm and mask for fine hair with a watermelon scent. I wanted to try the mask the most. I was wondering if the new watermelon would be able to overtake the “old” banana one in my personal rating? And not only in mine: the Superfood Banana mask appeared in stores a year ago and has since become a real favorite with customers. Will Watermelon be able to repeat its success? I’ll try to disassemble the new tool “by the bones.”
  • Consistency. In a watermelon mask, it is the same as in a banana one: it is a cream that looks like whipped sour cream. Pleasant to the touch, easy to apply. It is quickly distributed through the hair, quickly washed off.

  • Smell. The product smells like watermelon chewing gum – a pleasant, sweetish aroma.

  • Composition. As in other “superfoods”, in “Watermelon” 97% of the ingredients are of natural origin. Among them are aloe juice, soybean oil, sunflower seeds, coconut oil. Very worthy!

  • Efficiency. Hair after three applications began to appear denser and more voluminous. At the same time, there is no unpleasant feeling of oiliness, heaviness, which happens after saturated nutrients.

Mask Superfood “Watermelon” can be used as a mask, and as a balm, and as a leave-in treatment. I personally liked it more as a mask. In 3 minutes, it gives the hair exactly as many nutrients as it needs to make it look denser, livelier, and radiant. And, it seems, once again friendship wins, and on my shelf in the bathroom, in addition to banana, now there will also be watermelon care.
