Apple tree Orlov variety

Apple tree Orlov variety

The apple tree “Orlovsky Sinap” ripens the last among all the late varieties, but in this case this feature is not a disadvantage. The fruits are perfectly kept fresh until the end of spring, which makes it possible to compensate for the deficiency of vitamins, which the body lacks so much in winter.

Description of the apple tree “Oryol Sinap”

A pleasant feature of the variety are large oblong fruits weighing 150-200 g and of the same size, as if someone had specially selected them. The peel of apples is firm and smooth, when ripe, the fruit is yellow-green in color with a delicate blush on the sunny side. Full ripening occurs one month after harvest. Juicy greenish pulp has a sweet taste with a characteristic sourness.

After a month of storage, the fruits of the apple tree “Orlovsky Sinap” acquire a golden yellow hue.

Advantages of the variety:

  • Early maturity – the tree begins to bear fruit 4 years after planting;
  • High yield – on average, 80 kg of fruits are harvested from one tree;
  • The shelf life of fruits is the longest among the late varieties;
  • High frost resistance and unpretentious care.

The disadvantage of the variety is the large size of the trees, which makes it difficult to collect fruits and requires the allocation of a sufficiently large piece of land on the site. In addition, “Orlovsky Sinap” has a weak resistance to scab – the main disease of apple trees.

Features of agricultural technology of the apple-tree variety “Orlovsky Sinap”

A favorable time for planting this variety is mid-autumn. The main thing is to have time before the onset of frost, so that the seedling has time to root well. When choosing a place, it should be borne in mind that the apple tree grows intensively and after a few years it will need a lot of space.

“Oryol Sinap” does not like the neighborhood with tall trees – when planting several seedlings, the distance between them should be at least 3 m. The apple tree prefers well-lit areas, but a small shadow will not interfere with a good harvest.

Top dressing of the apple tree is necessary not only during planting, but also in the process of subsequent care. Fertilizers should be applied 4 times per season – after winter when buds are set, during flowering and after harvest

In addition to fertilization, to obtain a consistently high yield, regular watering in spring and summer is required at least once a week. One apple tree needs up to 30 liters of water. To evenly distribute the liquid, the ground under the tree is loosened.

“Orlovsky Sinap” refers to self-fertile varieties that do not require pollination. But if other varieties of apple trees grow nearby, then this will only have a beneficial effect on the fruiting of the variety.

This variety is grown both on personal plots and industrial areas. In a cool place, the fruits are well preserved until spring. They are consumed fresh, used to prepare baby food and juices.
