Apple Mantet: variety description

The Mantet apple tree originates in Canada. Its beautiful fruits are healthy and tasty. This plant has both positive and negative characteristics.

Description of the Mantet apple-tree

The apple tree of this variety is a medium-sized tree that grows up to 4,5 m. Its powerful branches are directed upwards and form a rare, thin oval crown.

The Mantet apple tree adapts to any climatic conditions

Large glossy green leaves grow on the branches. They have an elongated shape, wavy at the edges, raised up, and pointed at the end.

During flowering, which begins in May, large thyroid inflorescences of pink-white color, with a slight shade of purple, are formed on the tree.

Depending on climatic conditions, the apple tree bears fruit from late July to late August. This variety belongs to the early-growing, the first harvest can be obtained 3 years after planting.

At a young age, “Dream” has a high yield, one tree gives up to 65 kg of ripe fruits. After reaching 25 years, fruiting decreases, then the apple tree gives fruit in a year.

Among the disadvantages are the following:

  • low frost resistance;
  • a tendency to get scab;
  • inconvenience during harvesting, as the branches are directed upward;
  • branches can break from the weight of the fruit.

All these shortcomings are insignificant, they can be corrected in the process of caring for the tree. In addition, all the disadvantages are offset by the taste of the fruit and other advantages of the apple tree.

Thanks to its compact and neat crown, “Mantet” will find its place even in a small garden area.

Description of Dream apples and their properties

Ripe apples “Dream” have a round, slightly oblong shape. They can be yellow, yellow-green, and also have a red, striped blush. One ripe fruit weighs approximately 180 g.

Apples taste sweet and juicy, have a pleasant aroma. Fruits contain a large amount of vitamin C, as well as other useful elements and substances. Apples help fight kidney and cardiovascular diseases. They can be consumed during a diet, on a fasting day.

Along with the advantages of apples, there are some disadvantages:

  • Apples overripe quickly if they are not removed from the branches in time.
  • Fresh they are stored for only 14 days, and in the refrigerator – only 3,5 weeks.

These are all the disadvantages of ripe fruits, they are easy to eliminate if you make different preparations from apples for the winter.

Enjoy apples all year round as they remain tasty and healthy both fresh and canned.
