Action of Apo Zolpin
The active substance in Apo Zolpin acts on the central nervous system and has a strong hypnotic effect. Apo Zolpin belongs to a group of drugs similar to benzodiazepines.
Indications for the use of Apo Zolpin
Apo Zolpin is used for the short-term treatment of insomnia that makes it difficult for the patient to function.
Contraindications to the use of Apo Zolpin
Apo Zolpin should not be used by patients who are allergic to zolpidem or any of the other ingredients of the preparation. Contraindications to taking Apo Zolpin are also severe muscle weakness, sleep apnea syndrome, respiratory failure (a disorder of breathing causing the lungs to receive insufficient oxygen), liver or kidney problems, and alcoholism.

If you are taking other medications, including those available without a prescription, please inform your doctor. Apo Zolpin may affect the effects of psychotropic drugs and neuroleptics, antidepressants, drugs used to treat anxiety disorders, narcotic painkillers such as codeine and morphine, muscle relaxants, antiepileptic drugs, anesthetics, antiallergic drugs and those used in the case of colds.
Apo Zolpin should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women. The preparation passes into a small amount into breast milk, which may have an adverse effect on the baby.
Apo Zolpin is not recommended for the elderly or debilitated. Contraindications to the use of Apo Zolpin are also delusions, depression and anxiety, because Apo Zolpin cannot be used simultaneously with drugs administered in the treatment of the above diseases.
How to use Apo Zolpin?
Apo Zolpin should be used strictly according to the doctor’s instructions. Most often, Apo Zolpin is used just before going to bed. The drug is in the form of tablets to be washed down with a little water.
Adults are usually given two 5 mg Apo Zolpin tablets a day.
Elderly people should reduce this dose by half.
Apo Zolpin can only be used by people over 18 years of age. It is not recommended for children and adolescents.
Apo Zolpin is intended for the short-term treatment of insomnia, for a maximum period of 4 weeks. If no improvement is seen after 14 days of administration, diagnostic steps should be taken to rule out mental or physical illness.
Side effects of Apo Zolpin
When taking Apo Zolpin, side effects such as diarrhea, headache, nightmares, increased tiredness or, on the contrary, agitation may occur. You may also feel confused and irritable. The use of Apo Zolpin may cause rash, itching of the skin, muscle weakness, feelings of restlessness, aggressive behavior, delusions, impaired sex drive, liver disorders and changes in blood counts.
During treatment with Apo Zolpin, so-called paradoxical mental reactions such as inner restlessness, irritability, aggressive behavior, psychosis, tantrums, sleepwalking (walking while sleeping), worsening of insomnia and various types of behavioral disturbances may occur.
If any of the side effects occur, please consult your doctor about continued administration of Apo Zolpin.
Precautions when using Apo Zolpin
Apo Zolpin should be withdrawn gradually. This preparation may cause physical and mental dependence. Do not drink alcohol while taking Apo Zolpin as it may increase the hypnotic effect of zolpidem (the active ingredient in Apo Zolpin).
During treatment with Apo Zolpin, you should not drive or operate machinery. The drug may impair reaction and wakefulness, cause drowsiness and memory loss. This recommendation especially applies to the time after taking Apo Zolpin less than 8 hours.
If you take a larger dose of Apo Zolpin, contact your doctor immediately.
Do not use Apo Zolpin after the expiry date stated on the package. The preparation should be stored in a tightly closed container at room temperature, out of the sight and reach of children.
