“Apivir” for bees has a complex effect and is effective against a wide range of microorganisms. The medicine has the following pharmacological properties:
- antiviral;
- fungicidal, or antifungal;
- bactericidal, or antibacterial;
- antiprotozoal, or antihelminthic.
The drug increases the secretion of royal jelly, increases the resistance of insects to pathogenic microbes and adverse environmental conditions. “Apivir” strengthens the immunity of families, thereby significantly reducing their incidence.
“Apivir” for bees: instructions for use
The Apivir instructions for bees indicate that the drug is used only as a top dressing. Since the medicine itself is very bitter and burning, it is mixed with 50% sugar syrup. For 1 bottle of the drug, you need to take 10 liters of syrup.
The resulting solution is fed to insects in feeders or poured into empty combs. The latter are previously placed in the brood zone.
Another option for using Apivir is in the form of a healing candy. For its preparation, 5 kg of the substance is mixed with 1 vial of the drug.
Dosage, application rules
For 1 frame, take 50 ml of the mixture or 50 g of medicinal candy. For preventive purposes, 1 complementary food is enough. In the treatment of nosematosis, the procedure is repeated 2 times with an interval of 3 days. If the bees are infected with bacteria or viruses, “Apivir” is given every few days until the symptoms disappear completely.
