Apartment for 150 million, in which you do not want to live: 30 photos

Historic building, nice area, great kitchen, but …

The description of the apartment on the well-known classifieds site looks tempting: “A stunning view apartment with a huge number of windows. Three bathrooms. Two back doors, a huge attic. Living area – 144 square meters, kitchen – 16 “squares”, total area – 238 “squares”. Cool, isn’t it? Especially about the kitchen.

The apartment is so huge that the realtor could not even indicate the total number of rooms – he called it “multi-room”. And the place is luxurious: Ostozhenka, 750 meters to the metro, a historic building – the apartment building of Alexander von Meck, built in 1913. Beauty, and nothing more. But … I absolutely do not want to live in such an apartment. And that’s why.

The apartment looks strange inside. And not at all because the setting is old-fashioned. Antique interior details, original tiles of the century before last, other antiques coexist with modern technology, which is not built into the interior in any way, is not at all adapted to the surrounding space. White doors of the washing machine and dishwasher stick out intrusively and alienly between the wooden facades of the kitchen set.

And all this is framed by wallpaper, from which you want to immediately hang yourself. Plus shelves lavishly lined with colored china, paintings, a fridge dotted with magnets and a ridiculous chandelier shining over an antique wooden table. Someone will say that this is all out of envy. So be it. But imagine: you wake up every morning and go to the kitchen with wine-brown walls with flowers and stripes for coffee.

The kitchen is very eclectic

The walls, covered with rugs of predominantly red color with black patterns, bright green interior doors – this is appropriate in a museum, but do you want to live in a museum? Where there are no rugs, there are paintings. There are practically no empty spaces on the walls. It’s a pity – the walls are painted in a pleasant pistachio color. In some places on the ceiling there are yellow stains from smudges, it looks like the ceiling is crying in the rain. For some reason they hang in the arches of the doors in bundles of “wind chime” – walk under them, the chime will stand for half a day. Watering cans and plastic bottles with water are bashfully hiding in the corners, apparently for flowers – is there really no place for them so that they do not stick out in plain sight?

Upholstery on furniture in small flowers, an abundance of carvings, sculptures everywhere. There is even a private prayer room with icons. The walls of the long corridors are hung with paintings. There are also paths – just not on the floor, but again on the walls.

And only in the bathroom the eye rests a little. No, it is also full of works of pictorial art, all the walls are hung. But the calm color of the tile allows you to relax at least a little, forget for a couple of minutes about the variegation reigning around.

In general, despite the wonderful neighbors, multi-level security and its own parking, it is difficult to fall in love with such an apartment. However, even if you fall in love, there will be no sense: it costs 147 rubles. But it is definitely worth admiring this splendor. Live it can get seasick, but in the photo – as much as you like.
