Antistress compote: named drink, soothing in difficult situations

Stress can not only be «jammed», but also «drink» — and it is very effective and beneficial for the body. No, we do not mean alcohol: drinks without a degree help to cope with stress much better.

According to psychotherapist Sergei Oblozhko, there is nothing wrong with eating or drinking stress. But this must be done correctly: it is important to choose the right source of positive emotions, the expert explained in an interview with Sputnik radio station. His words cited «Around the world».

“When a person has a panic attack, he wants to eat. A simple strategy for overweight people is to comfort yourself with the right food. For example, you can drink pectin compote, which has a negative nutritional effect,” Sergey Oblozhko emphasized.

Scientists have long paid attention to the beneficial properties of pectin: this natural sorbent is almost not absorbed by the body, but it suppresses food cravings, lowers cholesterol levels and has a positive effect on the heart and intestines.

What foods contain the most pectin:

  • beet,

  • carrot,

  • eggplant,

  • pumpkin,

  • apples,

  • pears,

  • persimmon,

  • cherry,

  • plum,

  • black and red currant,

  • cranberry.

«Pectin compote» is a drink prepared using any product from this list, be it a vegetable, fruit or berry. Or you can take an even simpler path: buy pectin in a store and dissolve 2-3 grams in 100 milliliters of hot water.

The daily norm of pectin is from 15 to 35 grams. It should be used with caution in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, allergies, and also in combination with certain medications. It is advisable to consult a doctor before taking it — especially if you decide to drink beetroot juice or another drink with a high acidity.
