The patient’s genes are primarily at the root of atopic dermatitis. Atopy is an extremely common disease and it is estimated that about 1 percent of the population suffers from this condition. The most common cause of atopy are allergic factors that interact with the organs of our body.
Atopic dermatitis – causes
The sources and causes of atopy must first and foremost be found in the patient’s genes. Atopy is based on a weak immune system that is unable to respond adequately to low doses of antigens.
This abnormal response of the immune system is caused by the production of IgE antibodies in too high amounts, leading to decreased immunity against allergens. Atopy is also often referred to as the way the body reacts to allergenic factors from the outside world.
In most cases, there are reactions to natural factors such as pollen, animal hair and food. Allergy symptoms usually affect the respiratory and digestive systems. The symptoms of atopic symptoms include hay fever, atopic dermatitis, worsening of asthma symptoms and conjunctivitis. Atopy makes itself felt in childhood, and its source is, of course, the patient’s genes.

Antibiotic ointment and AD symptoms
The most characteristic symptoms of atopy are pruritus and itching sensation. In addition, there are redness, extreme dryness of the skin which in turn leads to other disorders and bacterial infections.
The intensity and location of symptoms depend on the individual case. In some cases, skin lesions may even cover the entire body, but most often appear in places such as the face or neck.
Atopy also accompanies other atopic symptoms, such as asthma and allergic conjunctivitis. In cases of the acute form of atopy, lumps and erythema may also appear. We also often deal with peeling of the skin. The least frequent is erythrodemia, i.e. the incidence of the entire patient’s body by atopic dermatitis. How to treat AD? Is an antibiotic ointment a good solution?
Antibiotic ointment and AD treatment
In order for the diagnosis to be made correctly, as soon as we notice any symptoms, we should go to an allergist immediately. We should look for signs of symptoms primarily in specific areas of the body, such as: elbows, knees, face and eye sockets. Other allergen-related diseases are not typically found in these areas of the body. It is also worth getting acquainted with the history of diseases in the family and making sure that none of its members have suffered from atopic dermatitis before.
You can also consult a dermatologist who will assess skin changes and indicate the appropriate form of therapy.
Antibiotic ointment is by far the most effective method of eliminating the symptoms and the allergenic factors themselves. Antibiotic ointment is usually used when all other methods have failed. Applying the ointment regularly (the schedule of use is usually prescribed by your doctor) helps and relieves the effects of atopic dermatitis almost immediately.
The antibiotic ointment has antipruritic and moisturizing properties. Thanks to these values, the use of an antibiotic ointment results in the resumption of skin regeneration processes and the elimination of inflammation and other changes caused by the disease.
