Antibiotic for sinusitis and otitis media withdrawn from the market

GIF withdrew the popular antibiotic from the market. What was the cause?

Decision Chief Pharmaceutical Inspector The medicinal product Taromentin (Amoxicillinum + Adicum clavulanicum), 875 mg + 125 mg, film-coated tablets, lot number: 050714 and expiry date: 06.2016, has been withdrawn from the market throughout the country.

The entity responsible is Tarchomińskie Zakłady Farmaceutyczne Polfa SA

The reason for the withdrawal from the market was the batch heterogeneity.

Indications: Infections of the upper respiratory tract (inflammation of the middle ear, sinuses, tonsils), lower respiratory tract infections (acute and chronic bronchitis, lobar and bronchopneumonia), skin and soft tissue infections (e.g. boils, abscesses, wound infections), complicated and uncomplicated infections genitourinary system, sepsis, intra-abdominal infections, postoperative infections of mixed etiology.
