The novel by Anna Starobinets is a thick cocktail of devilry and everyday life, pure emotions and fantastic theories. During a business trip to Paris, journalist Masha first finds herself in a strange body, and then meets her lost son, who, in turn, mysteriously plunges into a fairy-tale world inhabited by Gorynychs, Vodyanys and other old Russian horror. To get out of the labyrinth of irrational events, Masha will have to accept the rules of the game, no matter how crazy they may seem to her, and focus on what is most important for her at the moment: her relationship with her husband and child. The recipe is not new, but captivatingly versatile.
