Cosmetics made from natural raw materials have always been in demand. Even in spite of the fact that the “suppliers” of the valuable and useful component were animals, fish, insects.

Cosmetologists have found a lot of ways to cook excellent and harmless products based on unusual ingredients, which are now known to many fashionistas. And we just have to remind what natural substances have rendered people a good service.

Lanolin is a natural wax obtained from the fat of sheep’s wool through a special alkali treatment. Its beneficial properties were known even in Ancient Rome and Greece. This substance is rather viscous, has a yellow color that turns into brown. Due to its ability to absorb and retain moisture, lanolin is widely used in cosmetology. For example, it is included in all kinds of creams that smooth the skin and remove wrinkles. Lanolin is always present in lipstick, providing a woman in addition to an attractive look, excellent protection from environmental influences. This substance is often used in the preparation of face masks. Often it is present in shampoos, giving the hair splendor and silkiness. Let’s not forget that lanolin is also used to make an excellent foot cream.

Horse fat is obtained by heating horse carcasses. In its pure form, it is a whitish mass and contains valuable amino acids and keratin. Note that creams made on the basis of horse fat slow down cell aging, have a moisturizing effect and serve as an excellent means of fighting cellulite. Hair masks and shampoos, which contain this valuable substance, nourish the hair and give it a healthy shine. By the way, in Korea, for example, horses are kept in the cleanest ecological area and alpha-linoleic acid is added to their feed. And the subcutaneous fat of the horse is necessarily taken the one that accumulates under the mane. It is an excellent raw material for the manufacture of creams, balms and lotions.

Badger fat is usually made when the animal is about to go into hibernation. It is by the beginning of winter that the badger is gaining weight. Procurement of the future nutrient is a long process that takes place in several stages. The result is a natural badger fat of white and sometimes yellow color, with a peculiar smell and taste. Its composition is simply full of useful components. It is enough to mention fatty polyacids of the omega group to understand why badger fat is of great interest for modern cosmetology. Its medicinal properties are used to make masks for the face, hands and décolleté. It is considered one of the best remedies for stretch marks. This cosmetic product based on badger oil gives the skin a healthy and fresh look, and in winter it forms a film that protects against chapping and frostbite.

Or, in other words, mucin. The snail secretes mucus when it protects its house or moves. Note that for the extraction of mucin, a very valuable raw material for cosmetology, whole farms have been created, where specialists monitor the temperature in the incubator and snail feed. Due to its unique composition, snail mucin, which contains the most necessary components for healing the skin, giving it smoothness and elasticity, is simply irreplaceable for the manufacture of cosmetics. Gels, tonics, cleansing, nourishing, whitening masks, fabric masks – this is not a complete list of useful products that are made from snail mucin.

Keratin, which is usually made from sheep’s wool and is an excellent ingredient in cosmetics, has a liquid consistency. Its properties are simply unique, they have a beneficial effect on hair follicles, scalp and even restore hair. Keratin, together with collagen, serves as a good protection of hair from the influence of the external environment. Note that the composition of keratin is quite complex. It contains protein, amino acids, and other chemicals. Thanks to this content, shampoos have excellent properties that allow hair to regain its natural appearance. Conditioners and hair masks containing keratin are also effective. And, of course, everyone knows keratin hair straightening.

Beeswax is a white or yellowish brown solid with a characteristic odor. Of course, this product is the result of the vital activity of bees and is used in many directions, including in cosmetology. The extremely useful properties of beeswax are used to make masks and creams for both face and body. The nourishing ingredients contained in it strengthen the nail plate, eliminate wrinkles on the skin of the face. And shampoo made on the basis of beeswax is an excellent product for hair care, it always gives it a good volume and healthy shine.

Guanine is traditionally extracted from the scales of dead fish, aged in a vessel with alcohol. And I must say that this natural material has a high toxicity, which it loses after several stages of processing, acquiring an almost pearl color. And then guanine is incorporated into shimmery body lotions and face creams. But the use of processed fish scales does not end there. Excellent nail polishes and eyeshadows are another use of guanine.

Royal jelly is often called royal jelly, which contains a large amount of proteins – lysine and proline. It also contains minerals, carbohydrates, vitamins, organic and nucleic acids. In terms of its biological activity, royal jelly surpasses even honey. This substance is similar to sour cream, and bees produce it to feed the queen, larvae and drones. Royal jelly is well known to cosmetologists who use this component to make masks and face creams. Note that royal jelly rejuvenates the skin and smoothes deep and superficial wrinkles.

Carmine is an excellent raw material for decorative cosmetics, which has become the cochineal bug. The shredded and dried beetle produces the most popular colorant in the world. Carmine is obtained from females of these insects from the order of Hemiptera. Basically, this dye is used to make red lipstick or pink lotion.

Propolis is a plant resin from tree buds harvested by bees. It contains essential oils, amino acids, resinous acids, vitamins. Such an abundance of useful and nutritious ingredients could not fail to interest cosmetologists. Creams and various masks for problem skin, shampoos for strengthening and improving hair have long been popular. We also note shower gels, balms and soaps based on propolis, which have antimicrobial and cleansing properties. This valuable substance has found its use in toothpaste, make-up remover milk and lipstick.
