Anesteloc and Anesteloc Max – the most important information
Anesteloc and Anesteloc Max are drugs in the form of gastro-resistant tablets. They are available over the counter at most pharmacies.
The active substance of these preparations is pantoprazole – a derivative of benzimidazole, i.e. a drug from the group of proton pump inhibitors. Pantoprazole blocks an enzyme called a proton pump in the cells in the lining of the stomach. As a result, the secretion of hydrochloric acid is inhibited. This allows the acidity of the gastric juice to be reduced. Moreover, due to the administration of pantoprazole in accordance with the reduction of gastric acidity, gastrin secretion is increased.
