Alexander Pushkin, Andrey Bitov, Rezo Gabriadze… It is absolutely impossible to understand who is the author, who is the illustrator, and who is the hero, and in what relationship they all are with each other: it seems that all three participated in the creation of this amazing book on an equal footing. «Pushkin cycle» was invented and drawn by two friends, prose writer Andrey Bitov and screenwriter, artist and director Rezo Gabriadze. It includes hundreds of elegant black-and-white or color sketches, sometimes accompanied by very tiny — in a few lines — and sometimes quite lengthy story captions: about how Pushkin traveled to Tiflis, about how he carried water with a yoke, turned into a butterfly , drinking tea or simply lounging around. Touching and humane, funny and sad, frankly fantastic or almost real, these stories paint a lively and modern image of the great poet, and in terms of the degree of lightness and cheerful mischief, they seem almost congenial to the work of Alexander Sergeevich himself. The current edition includes the play «The Curtain», the illustrated «metamorphosis» «Pushkin the Butterfly» and other fragments of the «Pushkin cycle».
