PSYchology

I always thought that writing success diaries and summing up the day was nonsense. It is enough just to make a plan in the evening, and to execute tomorrow. But on the 3rd day of the November training in Moscow, I realized how wrong I was.

He constantly chose unnecessary projects, solved other people’s tasks, was distracted by the “churn”. And when I sat down on the first evening and asked myself the question — what happened in my life today, then I became afraid for my future. From that moment on, I introduced a new habit — to analyze every day and week.

This is a necessary condition for evaluating myself, own activity (self-reflection).

Ask yourself every evening the question: what did I do today and what do I plan for tomorrow? This ritual will allow you liveAnd not exist.

What exactly to do?

Get yourself a separate notebook to summarize the day. Paper or electronic — as you prefer.

1. Plan your day.

2. Put in wunderlist (any other calendar) a separate task about summing up the day:

3. Set a reminder and snooze:

4. When you hear a reminder — complete all the cases and start analyzing the day.

Instructions for the analysis of the day

  1. Ask yourself – did I complete the main task of the day today? If you did, then write like this: «Today I did …». If not, then write down the reasons that prevented. If you completed it partially, then write down what exactly you did and what prevented you from completing it completely. Write what you plan to finish tomorrow if the task is relevant;
  2. Write down what you have done useful and good today (projects/skills/development/family/significant people);
  3. Write down 1-3 main points of what you plan to do tomorrow on the main tasks. I draw your attention to the fact that at this stage it is not necessary to write down the detailed plan of the day. We are only «looking» into the future;
  4. Think and write down what else you should pay attention to tomorrow (projects/skills/family/leisure/development). What contexts of life for you will most relevant?
  5. Write down the general conclusion (what were the errors and what can be changed in your actions).

EXAMPLE

20 November 2018.

What has been done today:

Main tasks (done/not done/reasons):

  • The main task of the day was not completed: I managed to record 2 videos, there were questions about the site, it was necessary to solve it. Tomorrow I plan to finish the article and video.
  • I recorded a video using the textgrabber program, set up sorting letters in the standard Iphone program (it took too long to figure out the settings, but it was worth it).

What has been done useful and good:

  • I spent 1,5 hours with my family, played badminton with my youngest daughter, and Magnat with my eldest.
  • Worked out.

What I plan for tomorrow:

Main tasks:

  • Complete the main task.
  • Make a site layout.

What else is worth paying attention to tomorrow (projects/skills/family/rest/development):

  • Get some sleep.
  • An hour to read after completing the main tasks.

Conclusion

Leave more reserve time for various force majeure, discuss evening time with your wife in advance.

Conclusion

In this article, I have demonstrated the importance of summarizing the day. Analyze every day you live and consciously plan the next one.

The habit of analyzing the day in “spectator mode” will allow you to “climb to the roof of your life” daily, make the necessary adjustments and live each day consciously.
