The National Health Fund will remind patients about the visit by sending text messages or e-mails. Thanks to this, the patient will be able to recall it, and then the health center will decide who to invite to his place. This method of queuing management was introduced by the bill on e-referrals and waiting lists adopted on November 20, which raises many doubts among doctors and patients. “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna” writes about it.
Patients primarily want the queues to specialists to be as short as possible, meanwhile, according to Ewa Borek, president of the My Patients Foundation: – We are still focusing too much on recording and managing queues better and abandoning the interest in shortening them altogether. . In her opinion, solutions that will improve access to doctors and tests are necessary.
Keeping patient admission schedules means a new obligation for medical institutions related to the transfer of data on this subject to the National Health Fund. Doctors point out that in order to properly fulfill the imposed reporting obligation, it is necessary to employ people to deal with it and allocate funds for this purpose. However, no money was provided for in the project.
Medics from the Zielona Góra Agreement also point out that the implementation of new solutions involves the purchase and modernization of computer systems and software, which also generate costs.
