The scalp needs exfoliation just as much as the skin of the face and body. But the latter get exfoliation in full and regularly, but we forget about the scalp. It’s time to correct this mistake.
How exfoliation affects the condition of the hair
If for some reason the skin itself cannot cope with this, for example, due to age or individual characteristics, then an excess of dead cells can lead to negative consequences:
deterioration of cellular renewal;
increased dryness of the scalp;
increased sebum production, which means increased fat content;
dandruff;
hair loss and growth retardation.
Problems can be exacerbated if you use hair styling products (varnish, mousse, gel, spray, etc.) on a daily basis.
Its formula is based on salicylic acid to exfoliate dead cells and glycerin to moisturize. The tool well removes both visible and adhering to the scalp dandruff, eliminates and prevents peeling. Use the product labeled 3-in-1 based on your needs.
As a clarifying shampoo – 2-3 times a week. Apply to hair and scalp, lather, rinse with warm water after 2 minutes.
As a peeling – once a week. Apply to wet scalp, massage lightly in circular motions for 1-2 minutes, then rinse off.
As a mask against itching and increased oiliness of the scalp – 2-3 times a week. To do this, the product should be applied to the scalp for 2-3 minutes, then rinse with plenty of water.
How to choose the right shampoo
Ideally, hair care products should be chosen based on the type of scalp and the problems you want to solve. But exfoliating shampoos tend to be generic and available for everyone. The same is true with peels and scrubs for the scalp.
An exfoliating shampoo is beneficial even for normal scalps.
Therefore, we can give such advice. Use an exfoliating shampoo 1-3 times a week, depending on the recommendations of your dermatologist (trichologist) or the information indicated on the package and / or in the product insert. And choose a shampoo for permanent (including daily) care according to your skin type.
For dry hair a formula with moisturizing ingredients and nourishing oils will do.
For fatty – with sebum-regulating and refreshing components.
For oily roots and dry ends – clay-based shampoo.
For normal hair – Appropriately labelled.
The composition of the exfoliating shampoo for the head

Most often, exfoliating shampoos (also called peeling shampoos) include the following ingredients:
components for mechanical exfoliation: crushed seeds of fruits and berries (for example, apricot), synthetic microgranules;
acids (lipohydroxy-, salicylic) for chemical exfoliation;
plant extracts (eucalyptus, mint, menthol) for a refreshing effect, especially pleasant for dandruff accompanied by itching;
moisturizers like glycerin, as the scalp also needs a supply of moisture.
