Onion. What’s in it?
Onion is a little-appreciated vegetable that is a rich source of:
- phosphorus and calcium – building blocks of bones,
- magnesium,
- iron – helps fight anemia
- sulfur,
- zinc – builds antiviral immunity
- silicon,
- selenium – prevents atherosclerosis
- folic acid – helpful during pregnancy planning and during pregnancy

The above minerals strengthen the body’s resistance to various infections and diseases. Warming onion syrupFinely chop two large onions. Squeeze the lemon juice and mix it with 10 tablespoons of honey. Then pour the juice and honey over the chopped onion. Leave in a warm place for 24 hours. After 1 hours, filter the mixture through a sieve. Add the syrup obtained in this way to half a glass of warm water (XNUMX tablespoon of syrup). You should drink it when you feel the onset of a cold.
Cooked Onion SyrupWe cut 6 onions, add 170 g of honey to them and cook. Drain after cooking. You should drink one tablespoon 2-3 times a day. It is best to drink warm syrup.
Onion and honey syrupWe cut 2-3 onions into rings and put them on the bottom of the jar. Squeeze two cloves of garlic onto the onion, then 2 tablespoons of sugar or 2 teaspoons of sugar and a tablespoon of honey. Put onion slices on it again, squeeze garlic and sprinkle with sugar. The number of layers is optional. Close the full jar and put it in a warm place. Ready drink 2 tablespoons every day.
Helpful tipsIf we create our own versions of onion syrup, remember that when adding honey or lemon, we should not pour warm or hot water. Honey must also not be heated, because then it loses its valuable properties. It is best to add it after the syrup has cooled down – lemon too.
