Ampelous begonia: planting, leaving

When planting begonias, consider the following features:

• The best soil for begonias is a mixture of peat, sand, and leafy soil;
• choose the tuberous planting method – it is easier. To do this, you need to buy tubers in the store with a diameter of at least 3 centimeters;
• provide drainage so that water does not stagnate in the soil;
• plant the required number of tubers in a box or immediately in a small pot;
• place the rounded part of the tuber in a pot and cover it halfway with earth;
• as soon as sprouts appear, the tubers are completely covered with earth;
• watering must be done carefully, avoiding excess moisture;
• as soon as 3 leaves appear, the seedling must be transplanted into a separate pot.

The rules for planting begonias are not complicated, even a beginner can cope with them. Be sure to monitor the temperature and humidity.

Care rules are also simple, but pay attention to the following features:

1. Place the plant in a sunny part of the apartment, but avoid direct sunlight on the leaves – it can burn.
2. Water abundantly during flowering, but do not allow water to stagnate in the soil. This can lead to root rot.
3. Reduce watering frequency in winter.
4. Feed the plant with mineral fertilizers during the flowering period. Do not feed in winter.
5. Remove dry and old leaves.
6. In winter, the optimum temperature for keeping begonias is 15 degrees.
7. Pay attention immediately to lethargy or yellowing of the leaves: this may indicate a disease, a lack of moisture or an excess of it, or a need for fertilizers.

Begonia care is simple. But it still requires some attention from you. This is not to say that begonia is a very whimsical plant. Caring for her has its own characteristics, but it does not require much trouble from you.
