Amoebic liver abscess – diagnosis and treatment of liver amoebiasis

The disease is caused by amoebiasis, a blood-borne parasite from ulcers in the colon. This parasite causes necrotic changes in the liver followed by abscesses.

The symptoms of an abscess are the same as for abscesses caused by bacteria.

Diagnosis: on the basis of serological diagnostics.

Treatment: led by a doctor.
