Doctors say that in the history of official medicine there were only 25 such cases. This is the 26th.
Dr. Pierre-Emanuel Bouet, obstetrician-gynecologist at the Angers University Hospital, had a difficult patient. The 33-year-old woman already had five children. All five pregnancies ended in caesarean. But we know that in our country, after the second mother, they propose to issue a disability and sterilize, so that no more. But it seems that in this family the children were not only loved, but very much loved.
The woman came for a scheduled ultrasound scan at the 22nd week of pregnancy. She didn’t complain about anything, she felt great. Therefore, Pierre-Emanuel did not at all expect to see something unusual on the monitor. But I saw.
It turned out that the woman had a ruptured uterus – an amniotic hernia, if scientifically. A part of the amniotic fluid crawled out through a gap about two and a half centimeters long. Quite a decent part – 19 x 12 and 9 centimeters in size. Moreover, the bubble was not empty at all. On the monitor of the ultrasound machine, the picture looked as if the baby had stuck its legs out of the uterus and freely chatted with them in the mother’s belly. “Okay, I have to go. I was late here, ”he seems to be saying and trying to escape.
Official medicine knows only 25 such cases. This one is the 26th.
The situation is, to be sure, dangerous. After all, a complete rupture of the uterus could occur, then the organ would have to be removed. And the baby, most likely, would have died. The list of risks included placental abruption and premature birth. But the fetus was still too small to be scheduled for surgery. We decided that the mother would try to bring the child to a relatively safe time.
At the 30th week of pregnancy, examination showed that the gap had doubled. And now not only the baby’s legs protrude out, but also the tummy. There was no choice anymore – a cesarean section was prescribed.
A mother of many children has a completely healthy baby. True, quite tiny: only 1 grams. He was successfully released in the perinatal center. And my mother was allowed to go home just five days after the operation: the rupture in the uterus was sewn up, the woman recovered very quickly.
… The kid is already six months old. And he’s fine. The family is not yet talking about further expansion. Maybe they decided to stop at six children? ..
