Americans decided to order food delivery directly to the refrigerator

Walmart, America’s largest retail and wholesale chain, has announced the launch of a new customer delivery service in its latest press release. Now the couriers of the distribution network will be able to leave food directly in the refrigerators of their users, who will control this process through video surveillance cameras online.

The service, called Walmart InHome, will launch this fall. At first, residents of three US cities – Vero Beach, Pittsburgh and Kansas City – will be able to evaluate the new delivery. And in the event of its successful implementation, such a function will become available to all Americans.

There are a lot of similar delivery services in America, but they all deliver to the door of the house or to the trunk of the buyer’s car. Therefore, the Walmart retail chain has gone further and now, with the permission of the client, will be able to deliver food directly to the refrigerator.

To ensure that Americans can safely use the Walmart InHome service, the company has taken all security measures and developed a simple delivery scheme. On the day of the order, an employee of the company enters the customer’s house using a one-time code, puts the products on the shelves in the refrigerator and leaves. The buyer, on the other hand, monitors the delivery process online using a video surveillance camera on the chest of an employee of the company, so he can freely observe and control all his actions and movements around the house.

The retail chain assured that such a service would be carried out exclusively by trusted employees who have been working at Walmart for at least a year. Plus, Walmart has already posted their profiles on its official website containing personal information for review.

According to analysts, Walmart’s InHome service has every chance of becoming the most popular grocery delivery service in America and even overtaking such an online giant as Amazon.
